✨ Shirley Neighbourhood Care has moved! ✨

We’re now happily settled into our new office at Shirley Community Library, right at the heart of the community and alongside other local services.

Our office move was a real team effort — huge thanks to our Trustees, our amazing volunteers (especially Dave Turner and our IT expert), and Neil at Key Display for lending a van. We’re also so grateful to the Community Library team for such a warm welcome! There's nothing like a moving day for team building and a cuppa after loading the van!

Did you know about Shirley’s biggest secret? Shirley Neighbourhood Care’s film club holds regular screenings at Shirley Methodist Church close to the Trinity roundabout and opposite the Crown pub. Watch your favourite movies in comfortable seats, with free car parking and bus stops nearby. Refreshments are included in the price. (£6 for SNC clients and £7 for others) Afternoon shows are held for SNC’s elderly clients, but spare seats and the evening performance are open to ALL LOCAL RESIDENTS. Email sncs@shirleyneighbourhoodcare.co.uk to add your name to the mailing list to be notified about future movie titles. Next screenings are on Friday 20 March. Please do not DM.

WE DID IT! THANK YOU TO OUR WONDERFUL COMMUNITY 🎁
Wow, we surpassed our target and with additional donations we have raised a total of £1410. This allows us to buy gifts and create Christmas Gift Bags for our clients who many go without this time of year.
What an amazing and generous community to be a part of and we want to thank each and every one of you for donating and supporting us. The heartwarming response we receive when delivering these gifts makes it all worthwhile and we couldn’t have done it this year without all our incredible donors and supporters.

We have just one week left. And right now, we're only at 32%.

Without your help, older people in West Wickham will spend Christmas alone – with no gift, no visitor, and no reminder that anyone cares.

For many of us, Christmas is filled with laughter, family, and love. But for over 220 local older residents supported by Shirley Neighbourhood Care, it's the loneliest time of the year.

They live alone. Many have no family nearby. Some won't see a single soul on Christmas Day.

Every year, we create and deliver Christmas Gift Bags – a small but powerful way to remind our clients that they are remembered, loved, and valued. But this year, we're running out of time.

We need to raise £1,000 by Friday 5th December. That's THIS FRIDAY.

Your donation will fill these gift bags with:
🎁 Festive food and drinks
🎁 Toiletries and small useful gifts
🎁 Christmas puddings and sweet treats
🎁 A personal card written by a local schoolchild

Each bag is hand-delivered by our volunteers, along with a smile and a friendly chat. For someone spending Christmas completely alone, this simple act of kindness means everything.

Last year, one client told us: "It was the only present I received, and it made me feel that someone still cares."

Imagine spending Christmas with no gift. No card. No knock at the door. Nothing.

That's the reality for our neighbours if we don't reach our target.

We can't do this without you. And we're running out of time.
