On World Sleep Day, it's a great reminder that quality sleep does more than help you feel rested. It plays a vital role in regulating emotions, reducing stress and anxiety, improving cognitive function, and strengthening overall brain health.

When sleep is consistently disrupted, it can affect mood, focus, and emotional resilience. Prioritizing healthy sleep habits and giving your mind the rest it needs can make a meaningful difference in your overall well-being.

Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to support both your mind and body. Your mental health deserves the rest.

Glaucoma is often referred to as the 'silent thief of sight, because it can develop gradually without noticeable symptoms and may lead to permanent loss of vision if left undetected and untreated. ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

Did you know Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness worldwide, yet many people do not realise they have it until vision loss occurs. The condition often develops without early symptoms, which is why regular eye examinations are essential.

This World Glaucoma Day, we encourage everyone to learn about glaucoma risk factors and prioritise routine eye examinations, which play an important role in early detection, treatment and protecting vision.

March is Epilepsy Awareness Month!

Even if you don't live in those countries where itโ€™s taking place, it's still a great opportunity to raise awareness, educate people about epilepsy, and make those living with it feel supported. The more epilepsy awareness, the better! After all, epilepsy isn't limited to just one month, so awareness shouldn't be either!

About 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy in their lifetime. Let's break the stigma and build a supportive community for everyone living with epilepsy. Check back in for stories, education, and ways to get involved all month long.

March marks Brain Injury Awareness Month, a time dedicated to increasing understanding, challenging misconceptions, and highlighting the realities of living with a brain injury. ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’š

For many people, a brain injury impacts communication, connection, and daily life in ways others may not see.

Did you know that a traumatic brain injury (TBI) can increase a person's risk of developing epilepsy? When the brain experiences trauma, it can disrupt normal electrical activity sometimes leading to seizures weeks, months, or even years later. Awareness, prevention, and education matter.

At New Horizons Management Services, we're committed to building understanding, providing support, and creating a community where every person feels seen and heard.

This month, help us spread awareness, share resources, and stand with brain injury survivors and their families. ๐Ÿง

In 2 weeks it is March the 21st. This is a day that holds so much meaning -World Down Syndrome Day. It's more than just a date on the calendar; it's a reminder to celebrate the incredible individuals with Down syndrome who fill our world with love, laughter, and pure, unfiltered joy.

Down syndrome isn't something to overcome-it's a unique and beautiful part of the human experience.
Those with Down syndrome show us what it means to live with an open heart, to find joy in the simplest moments, and to see the world through a lens of pure kindness. They remind us that true strength lies in love, and that life is meant to be embraced with enthusiasm and unwavering optimism.

The date being the 21st day of the 3rd month was chosen to represent the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

As the two week countdown gets closer, this is a brilliant opportunity to celebrate inclusion, raise awareness, and, in line with this year's theme Together Against Loneliness, highlight the importance of connection and community for children and young people with Down Syndrome.

February is Raynaud's Awareness Month, which aims to raise awareness of Raynaud's phenomenon, a condition that affects blood circulation, primarily in the fingers and toes. It can cause these areas to feel numb or cold, turn white or blue, and sometimes become painful. Many people with lupus also experience Raynaud's phenomenon.

Did you know Raynaud's affects 15-30 million people worldwide, with around 20% of women of childbearing age experiencing symptoms? This condition makes the small blood vessels in fingers and toes overreact to cold or stress, often turning them white, then blue sometimes causing numbness, tingling, or pain.

Here we have created a poster with information, fun facts and tips for Raynaud's.

At New Horizons Management Services, we believe everyone deserves support to live well. Share this post and spread awareness this Raynaud's awareness month. ๐Ÿงก

Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Week is held each year from February 7th-14th to recognize children and adults living with congenital heart disease, celebrate their HEART journey and increase public awareness of these heart conditions. ๐Ÿซ€

Congenital heart defects are the most common type of birth defect, affecting nearly 1 in every 100 children โ€” about 40,000 babies each year. CHDs affect the structure and shape of a baby's heart. Early detection, appropriate medical intervention, and ongoing medical care are crucial in managing and improving the quality of life for babies with CHDs. Each case is unique, and the prognosis depends on the specific type and severity of the defect.

This week, we Honor the heart warriors who inspire us daily, the families who walk beside them through every milestone, and the angels who will always hold a place in our hearts. We remain committed to providing compassionate, specialized support for children living with CHD. โค๏ธ
