“A small, personal way to keep them close.”

In this video, Joe talks through our collection of cremation jewellery - available both in-store and online - designed to hold a small amount of ashes as a lasting, wearable tribute.

From subtle, understated pieces to more detailed designs, each item offers a way to carry the memory of a loved one with you, every day. Suitable for both human and pet remains, these pieces are chosen with care to feel personal, meaningful, and comforting.

Because remembrance doesn’t have to be distant, it can be something you hold close.

“From the very first phone call, all the way through and beyond…”

We’re incredibly grateful to receive feedback like this, and to have been trusted during such an important time.

While our presentation is something we take great pride in, it’s the care behind it that truly matters - the patience, the guidance, the reassurance, and the commitment to making every service feel personal and exactly as it should be.

Thank you for your kind words about our team - David, Grace, Peter and Justine - and for recognising the support they provided throughout. It means a great deal to us.
To be able to bring a sense of comfort, clarity and calm during such a difficult time is a privilege we never take lightly.

In this video, Joe talks through the full range of options available, and how each one can be tailored to reflect the individual.

From traditional copper coffins, known for their craftsmanship and timeless finish, to more contemporary styles, there are a variety of materials and designs to consider. For those looking for a more sustainable approach, Joe also touches on eco-friendly options - offering a more natural alternative.

He also explains how personalisation plays an important role - whether that’s through colours, interiors, finishes, or subtle details that help tell the story of someone’s life.

There’s no set way to choose, it’s about finding something that feels right, personal, and meaningful.

Excellence in service doesn’t end with the funeral.

Through the Rowland Brothers Foundation, our care continues - offering dedicated bereavement support to individuals and families navigating life after loss. From one-to-one counselling and group support, to informal drop-ins and simply having someone to talk to, this is a space where no one has to face grief alone.

This support is provided free of charge, because we believe that compassion and care should always be accessible when it is needed most.

Grief does not follow a timeline, and neither does our support. Whether in the immediate days after loss, or months and years later, the Foundation is there - offering guidance, understanding, and a listening ear.

Because true excellence is not just about how we serve on the day, but how we continue to care long after.

“Made the situation more bearable and comforting.”

We are incredibly grateful to receive words like these from the families we support.

At such a difficult time, it is our role to provide not only professionalism, but genuine compassion, clear communication, and reassurance every step of the way. From the care of your loved one, to the service itself, every detail is handled with the utmost respect and understanding.

Thank you, Luan, for trusting us to care for your mum, and for your kind words about our team - especially Beaulieu-Taylor Harris, whose dedication to creating a truly personal and meaningful service is something we are very proud of.

It is a privilege to support families in these moments, and to help bring comfort when it is needed most.

Flowers have long been a gentle way of expressing what words often cannot.

In times of loss, they carry messages of love, remembrance and compassion - honouring a life that has passed, while offering comfort to those left behind. Whether sent to a service, a graveside, or to the home of a grieving family in the days and weeks that follow, flowers are a quiet reminder that someone is being thought of.

Each bloom holds its own meaning.

🌹 Roses speak of love, respect and remembrance - from the innocence of white, to the courage of red, and the grace of pink.

🌹 Lilies represent purity and the restored innocence of the soul.

🌹 Carnations symbolise devotion and remembrance, with pink often holding special meaning in Christian traditions.

🌹 Gladioli stand tall in strength, sincerity and integrity.

🌹 Orchids express eternal love, while chrysanthemums - so often chosen - represent truth here in the UK.

More delicate choices, such as forget-me-nots, violets and camellias, carry messages of lasting memory, a life gone too soon, or deep admiration and respect.

At Rowland Brothers, we work closely with trusted local florists to ensure every arrangement reflects the wishes of the family - from traditional tributes to completely personal designs, including names, shapes and bespoke requests.

Every farewell is personal - and so is the space it’s held in.

At our Croydon headquarters, we offer a range of chapels and rooms designed to reflect the wishes, beliefs, and individuality of every family we serve. From traditional spaces with stained glass and a sense of heritage, to more intimate rooms that can be thoughtfully adapted for both religious and non-religious ceremonies.

Guided here by Joe, our Commercial Director and 6th generation of the Rowland Brothers family, this is more than just a tour - it’s a reflection of who we are.

Within these walls is a room that has served our own family for generations, where Rowland Brothers have said goodbye to their own since 1873. A reminder that the care we provide is deeply personal, shaped by lived experience as much as tradition.

Because the setting matters - and every detail should feel right.

There is no single answer - because every family, every circumstance, and every belief is different.

For some, particularly within certain religions, funerals are required to take place within a specific timeframe - often within 24 hours or a few days - as part of long-held traditions and customs. For others, there is more flexibility, allowing time for family to gather, reflect, and plan a service that feels right.

At Rowland Brothers, we understand the importance of both urgency and care. Whether arrangements need to be made quickly or over a longer period, our role is to guide and support you with sensitivity, ensuring everything is handled with the utmost respect.

Because every farewell should happen in a way that honours the individual and their wishes

Excellence in service begins long before the day itself.

Every detail of our uniform is considered with purpose - clean, precise, and immaculately presented - not for appearance alone, but as a mark of respect. To stand before a family at such an important moment requires more than professionalism; it requires pride, dignity, and a deep understanding of the role we play.

Our team wear their uniform as a symbol of honour - honouring the life that has passed, the family we are supporting, and the heritage we carry forward. It reflects our commitment to showing up at our very best, every single time.

Because in these moments, how we present ourselves speaks without words.

We are so grateful to Maria for sharing her experience with us.

Arranging a funeral for a parent is something no one is ever truly prepared for - especially when it’s your first time navigating the process. Our role is not only to organise the practical details, but to offer reassurance, patience and genuine care along the way.

From regular communication and gentle guidance, to small personal touches on the day itself, every detail matters. Knowing that Maria felt supported - and that her mum received the send-off she deserved - means more to us than we can say.

It is always our privilege to stand beside families at such an important and emotional time, offering not just professionalism, but compassion and kindness too.
