15 years old. A Whitgift sports scholar. And determined to get back on the cricket field representing Surrey 🏏

Hamza suffered a bucket handle meniscus tear that required surgery. After four months of rehab that hadn’t progressed the way he and his coach had hoped, his cricket academy director told him to get in touch with me.

We completely revamped his rehab programme, and within 10 minutes of his first session we restored range of motion he thought he might never get back.

Since then, we’ve been building his strength, control and confidence, and the progress has been huge.

Hamza is now back in the nets, pushing forward with his strength programme, and we’re right on track for him to be playing competitively in the opening match of the season.

Huge credit to Hamza for the work he’s putting in 👏

This patient of ours was suffering from cauda equina syndrome (CES), a rare but serious condition of the spine.

If left untreated, the suddenly compressed nerve root can result in permanent paralysis and incontinence. The goal is to free up the root.

After emergency surgery to decompress his back, we started on his rehab journey. Now, some six weeks in, we’re back to deadlifting and building strength. A keen gym-goer, the thought of performing any exercise, let alone a compound move, was something he never believed he’d do again.

We’re absolutely thrilled with his progression so quickly after surgery.

You against yourself. No comparisons. Focus on your own progress.

Just like an injury, every story and every recovery is different.

Anyone that has seen me in clinic knows how much I love explaining the "why". This is the reason ➡️ Movement is medicine, but education makes it work. Clear communication turns a home exercise program into a roadmap for recovery. Let's work 💪🏼

No fancy video, just a little behind-the-scenes of a busy physio clinic doing its thing. Me chatting strength training with a patient after a session, Saaj on the AlterG with one of his regulars, and Priyaa running through a fresh assessment.

Love to see it on a Monday morning 🙌

Thank you, Ranjeet ❤️
