"Why can't I do my homework or why can't I do my assignments, why do I leave everything to the last minute"
Classic questions from adults, parents and kids....

Because we can't work without a motivator/ driver/ massive end goal!

I prefer the "let's leave it until 24 / 48 hours before it's due approach" and then bang it out like my life depends on it 😂.

No amount of tokens would gives me as much of a dopamine kick as an impending deadline 😂... except maybe vinted parcels 🤔

2500 word lit review due on Tuesday, starts it Friday night, knocks it out & hands it in on Monday. No stress, no drama, just done. It's easy when you stop fighting against yourself!

🌟 ADHD & Emotions:
You Are Not “Too Much”
You’re Wired Differently🌟

🎥 Inspired by Dr. Russell Barkley’s incredible insight on emotional regulation and ADHD

If you’ve ever been told you’re "too sensitive", too intense, or that you overreact, this post is for you ❤️

💡 Dr. Russell Barkley, a world-renowned ADHD expert, explains that emotional self-regulation is just as central to ADHD as attention challenges. It’s not a side effect. It’s core.

🔎 In fact, many people with ADHD experience emotions more intensely and struggle with impulse control around how they express or manage those feelings.

That’s not a personal failing. We simply have a different neurotype!

✨ Here’s what we love about this message:

✅ It VALIDATES that emotional dysregulation is a real, recognised ADHD trait

✅ It NORMALISES your experience, there’s nothing “wrong” with you

✅ It EMPOWERS you with real, practical strategies (like pausing, reframing, self-talk)

✅ It HIGHLIGHTS the strengths of intense emotions—like passion, creativity, empathy

❤️ At A Safe Space to Be Neurodivergent, we believe:

💬 “You’re not too much. You feel deeply and that’s beautiful.”

You deserve understanding, not shame. Tools, not judgment.

🧠 Let's keep spreading the message: ADHD is not just about focus, it’s also about feelings. With the right support, those feelings can become your superpower. 💥

📢 Tag someone who needs to hear this. Share to your story. Let’s raise awareness and compassion for emotional regulation in ADHD.
