Your calendar is colour-coded. Your inbox is at zero. Your to-do list? Immaculate.

And yet.

There’s this low hum of something not quite right that follows you everywhere. You can’t put your finger on it. You’re not falling apart — you’re functioning. Brilliantly, even.

But behind the productivity and the pulled-together exterior, your inner world feels like a browser with 47 tabs open and no idea which one is making that noise.

This is what high-functioning anxiety actually looks like.

Not chaos you can see. Chaos you feel — quietly, constantly, while still hitting every deadline.

If this is you, I want you to know two things:
✦ You are not broken
✦ This doesn’t have to be your baseline

You’ve mastered managing the outside. Imagine what becomes possible when you get the same support for the inside.

💬 Drop a 🖥️ below if the 47 tabs hit a little too close to home.

Let’s bust a myth. 👇

Therapy isn’t the thing you reach for when everything’s broken.

It’s the thing that helps make sure things don’t break.

You can come to therapy when you’re:
✦ Functioning fine but feeling a bit… flat
✦ At a crossroads and craving clarity
✦ Stuck in patterns you can’t quite name
✦ Ready to actually understand yourself

Waiting until you’re in crisis to get support is like waiting until you’re dehydrated to drink water.

Prevention, growth, and self-awareness are just as valid as any crisis.

You don’t have to be falling apart to deserve a space that’s entirely yours.

💬 Save this if you’ve ever talked yourself out of therapy because you thought you weren’t “bad enough.”

11th June | A Space to Breathe, Reflect, and Reset.

Success often arrives before we feel ready to own it.

Set against the tranquil, rolling landscape of Edenmore Golf & Country Club, we invite you to a transformational half-day intensive designed exclusively for women navigating the complexities of professional growth.

Whether you are working in a high-pressure environment, navigating a significant career pivot, or returning from a "Hard Reset," this experience offers a rare, generative space to address the inner limitations that hold you back.

By combining clinical psychotherapy with strategic coaching, we move beyond surface-level mindset tips to uncover the hidden beliefs driving self-doubt.

You will leave the countryside with:

Clarity: A renewed sense of direction and identity.

Regulation: Practical nervous-system tools to manage the "mental swirl."

A Roadmap: A purposeful strategy to silence your inner critic and finally realise your full potential.

Join us for a morning of deep work, artisan breakfast, and a seated networking lunch in the heart of the Northern Irish countryside.

✨ Reserve your space via the link in our bio.

When: Friday 22nd May, 7.30

Here’s a little overview of what you can expect from the sessions

To begin, there’s a gentle conscious focus exercise — this might involve reflecting on a current goal, something you’re working toward, or simply calling to mind something you feel grateful for. There’s absolutely no need to share anything, just to be present and open — this part is simply about settling the mind and bringing it into the present moment before the deeper work begins.

The hypnosis forms the heart of the session, guiding you into a deeply relaxed state through a combination of relaxation techniques and visualisation. This is a safe, peaceful process — you’ll remain aware throughout, just in a wonderfully calm and receptive state. Many people find this the most restorative part.

Healing sounds follow, creating a gentle, soothing sonic environment — think of it as a more intimate, accessible version of a sound bath. These sounds support the nervous system in staying in that relaxed state a little longer.

Finally, the session closes with some very gentle stretching to slowly bring awareness back to the body and ease back into the room feeling grounded and refreshed.

Overall the sessions are a wonderful way to reduce stress, improve sleep, and give the mind and body a proper rest — all you needs to bring is yourself and a willingness to relax.

Please note, bookings are non-refundable but if for any reason you can not attend you are more than welcome to transfer to a friend or family member.

The "Success Trap": Why High-Functioning Anxiety is the Great Pretender.

To the outside world, you’re the "high achiever." You’re the one who meets every deadline, remembers every birthday, and stays calm under pressure.

But as a Mental Health Nurse, I see what’s happening behind the curtain. For many high-functioning individuals, anxiety doesn't look like "falling apart"—it looks like "holding it all together" at an unsustainable cost.

Here is the clinical reality of what you might be experiencing:
🧠 Productivity as a Defence Mechanism: You aren't just "driven." You’re using work to outrun the intrusive thoughts that surface the moment you sit still.
🧠 The "Freeze" response in "Flight" clothing: Your perfectionism is often a sophisticated survival strategy. If everything is perfect, you feel safe from criticism or failure.
🧠 Nervous System Dysregulation: Even when you’re "relaxing," your body is stuck in a state of high alert (hyperarousal). This is why you feel exhausted but can’t sleep.

How we move past it:
Traditional talk therapy is great, but high-functioning anxiety is often stored in the nervous system. That’s why I integrate a multi-modal approach:
EMDR: To process the underlying "triggers" that drive the need for perfection.
CBT & NLP: To reframe the internal dialogue from "I have to" to "I choose to."
Hypnotherapy & Tapping: To manually signal to your brain that it is safe to downshift.

You’ve spent years mastering your career. It’s time to master your peace.

May Dates now released.

After an amazing weekend of rest sessions (and some seriously delightful feedback) I am so delighted to release the May dates.

As many of you know, I was so over whelmed by the response to these sessions and felt terrible about having to turn so many away. So .... I have managed to secure some extra sessions.

21st May: Moira Lakes, 5.45 or 7.30pm
22nd May: Lough Road Yoga Studio, 7.30pm
24th May: Studio Space @ Lisburn Rugby CLub, 5.45 or 7.30pm

Hi, I’m Emma

If you’re new here, I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself and the heart behind what I do 🤍

I’m a Mental Health Nurse with over 20 years of experience, and I now specialise in supporting women who are navigating high-functioning anxiety, depression, or struggles with binge eating or bulimia.

On the outside, it can look like you’re coping… holding everything together, achieving, showing up for everyone else. But on the inside, it can feel exhausting, overwhelming, and at times, lonely.

That’s where I come in.

My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and rooted in helping you understand the why behind your patterns — so you can begin to create real, lasting change.

I absolutely love group work — there’s something so powerful about healing in a space where you feel seen and understood. But I also offer 1:1 coaching and therapy for those who want more personalised support.

One of the biggest things I’m passionate about?
Rest. Slowing down. Creating space.

Because healing doesn’t happen when we’re constantly in survival mode — it happens when we feel safe enough to pause 🤍

If you’re ready to explore your relationship with unhealthy coping mechanisms, your emotions, or simply want to feel more like you again…

I offer a free 20-minute discovery call so we can see if we’re the right fit.

Send me a message to book ✨

Last night in The Wellbeing Room… and wow ✨

We explored The Biology of Sustainability, Anchor 2 within the Sustainable Mind and Body Method. It is a gentle reminder that we don’t think our way to wellbeing… we build it through the small things we do every day.

Together, we laughed, moved, connected, reflected… and slowed down enough to actually feel what our bodies have been trying to tell us.

One of the biggest takeaways?
It’s not about doing more.
It’s about doing what truly supports your nervous system.

My own MARBLES takeaway:
– Moving your body in a way that feels good (not punishing)
– Taking moments of stillness to reset
– Connecting with people who feel safe
– Finding small moments of joy, laughter, and meaning

Because real wellbeing isn’t built in big, perfect moments…
It’s built in the quiet, consistent ones.

And we ended, as always, with a moment to pause… breathe… and come back to ourselves

To everyone who came—thank you for your openness, your honesty, and your willingness to show up for yourselves.

If you weren’t there, let this be your reminder today:
You don’t need to overhaul your life.
Just start with one small step… one choice… one “marble” at a time 🌸

🌿 Introducing The Wellbeing Room 🌿

Alongside my therapy and coaching work, I’ve created something really special within my local community, along with the wonderful Marbles Creatives Coaching, who I have the privilege of calling a friend. It is a space that brings people together to reconnect, reset, and feel supported 🤍

The Wellbeing Room is my way of giving back — because I truly believe that wellbeing shouldn’t just be something we work on alone, but something we experience together. Janette and I do not take payment for these sessions, there is simply a small fee to cover venue hire and resources.

This isn’t just another “wellness group”…
It’s a space that’s fun, refreshing, and real.

Yes, we laugh. Yes, we connect. Yes, we take a break from the chaos of everyday life.
But there’s also a deeper layer — one where real growth, learning, and self-awareness happens.

Inside The Wellbeing Room, we explore things like:
✨ Emotional wellbeing
✨ Nervous system regulation
✨ Relationship with food & body
✨ Hormones, habits, and lifestyle
✨ And so much more…

At the minute we are working through an adapted version of "The Sustainable Mind and Body Method" - a wellbeing workshop that I offer in the cooperate world.

It’s about creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are — and leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to yourself.

This is my local community, and it means so much to me to hold a space like this 🤍
