Well... A week of support, encouragement, togetherness & acceptance at The Nest.
At The Nest there are no tokenistic gestures of support. We whole heartedly go into each conversation, each situation in the hope that every person feels heard, valued & safe!
Throughout the week we have walked alongside those in our community who are often feeling so alone. We can't always share their stories so that support remains dignified, confidential & are not being Used for ego or for a funding report ♥️
We do so much more than we can share.... this week is no exception. We share the following with care & anonymity, NOT so we are shouting about it, but so others know if they too find themselves in a similar place/situation they know that there IS a safe & welcoming place they can come to at The Nest...
♥️Thank you to the older generation man who had the courage to walk through our doors after a crisis & feeling suicidal. We admire your courage & are so glad you are now recovering.
♥️Well done to the person who despite panic attacks & feeling agoraphobic managed to attend more than ine session at The Nest this week. A huge achievement, super proud 🥲
♥️We celebrate the individual who despite isolating themselves from the world for a while due to feeling unsafe knew they could return, have a cuppa & chat and feel safe with us
♥️We celebrate each person, who despite their own confidence issues, took a turn at leading the group for Clubbercise this week while Laura was on holiday - beyond proud of your courage!!
♥️ Well done to the 2 people who have overcome so many challenges & made the brave decision to return to education at college . Well done on completion of your final assessment 🏆
♥️We are extremely proud of our young person who is unable to attend school because of their trauma & anxiety & managed to attend Loch Norris fayre to help CAP with surveys. This was a huge step & we are very proud 🥲
♥️Well done to the person (s) who reached out to us for support & chose to stay alive. Thank you for trusting us.
♥️Well done to the wee mum (who is a single parent) who accepted help and support. We appreciate how difficult it was for you & thank you for sharing your story with us and trusting us at one of the most challenging times in your life. You got this!
♥️Well done to the person who learned to use their communication skills to voice their feelings. This may not sound like much but us a HUGE amount of progress from them & we appreciate how challenging it is for you to even identify your feelings never mind share them. Your progress is inspiring
♥️Well done to every person this week who in our support group were honest.... With themselves & others. This paves the way for growth & recovery & is admirable.
♥️Thank you..... To the people who have called us this week. Who have shared their story, including their pain, trusting that help & support was available even although they have never met us in person. We admire your courage & also thank you for trusting us with this moment of difficulty in your life.
To the new people, Welcome Home & welcome to The Nest family. For those who are already alongside us we continue to appreciate each of you.
If you can't find the light.... Be the light.... And if you have no energy to be the light ... Borrow ours for a while ♥️♥️🕯️🔦🙏
