Part of our program is Recovery focused.... Supporting people who are facing challenges with addiction, supporting families who are affected by addiction & offering a safe, confidential space for people to access support, advice or information.
Last week we spent the day at Emergency One Group Ltd delivering information sessions to 1st & 2nd year apprentices. These sessions allowed them an opportunity to learn more about drugs & alcohol, the dangers/risks & allowed them to better understand current drug trends. There were a number of shocked faces as we discussed the current numbers for hospital admissions that were drug or alcohol related, non fatal overdoses & the number of deaths so far this year 😔
Our team shared their individual journeys with some open, candid & hard hitting stories. This was well received & certainly gave the young workforce food for thought. We are very proud of our team for having the courage to be so open, transparent & willing. Thank you ❤️🙏
It was interesting to note that the youngsters hadn't heard of a lot of it & certainly had never been told about the risks even although it was briefly touched upon at school. This highlights the importance of education & delivering the information in a way that's relationship based allowing them to really listen & be unafraid to ask questions.
We are extremely grateful to Stewart & Stephanie at Emergency One for the opportunity & look forward to future collaboration. Emergency One are developing a robust health and well-being program for their staff. Their approach to ensure staff are looked after, educated and supported at work is inspirational. Their approach is to ensure each staff member is also seen as a person, is valued & as a member of their team knows that support is available for them not only in relation to challenges with addiction but financially (money advice), health support (medicals), su***de prevention & mental health support & various other opportunities for education are being designed and delivered.
Emergency One is the largest employer locally and looks to become an organisation who leads the way in forward thinking for staff Wellbeing realising that if they take care of their team that their team will be happier at work, healthier & there could potentially be an increase in productivity.
We look forward to future opportunities within Emergency One & hope we can continue to have an active role in supporting their team.🚒❤️🙏
