So Monday 6th April, Graeme (one of our Directors) took the leap of faith and completed his Charity Bungee Jump at Highland Fling.

The team here at Ayrshire Memorials LTD can’t believe he actually did it and that he wants to bungee jump again. 😳

His donation page is still up and running, so any donations for this to raise money for the amazing Ayrshire based charity Memories are Better than Dreams would be greatly appreciated.

We would like to extend our thanks to the family for allowing us to share these images of their family memorial before(client supplied) & after.

The client for this headstone came to us as they required an additional inscription to be done, as well as getting the headstone refurbished. The headstone also was leaving backwards noticeably and the original foundation was exposed causing movement too, so stability works were also done.

The text had originally been done in Gold Leaf, but after discussions with our client about the benefits of Gold Resin and the ease of maintenance on the text, our client opted for Gold Resin on the refurbishment and new inscription.

Our skilled team can match any fonts from any other monumental masons past and present, so as to make any new inscription flow seamlessly from the original to new text.

Our process is seamless for our clients, we deal with any local authority, have all forms readily available, and with us being full NAMM Retail Members and fully RQMF qualified, you know that your older memorial will be refurbished and re-erected to the highest standards.

We at Ayrshire Memorials LTD love seeing older memorials brought back to life, fully refurbished to the highest standards looking like new and restabilised to stand the test of time.

We would like to extend our thanks to the family for allowing us to share photos of before and after.

The client for this marble book plaque and terrazzo vase came to us as they were requiring it to be cleaned and the text to be made visible as it had deteriorated over the years.

As can be seen from the before photos, a lot of algae/lichen and mineral deposits had formed on the stone and the original paint had peeled away from the text.

Our cleaning process on marble is a 2 part process where it is firstly chemically cleaned and pressure washed to remove all algae/lichen and mineral deposits, then afterwards the text had been resprayed with Black Resin (which will last a lot longer on Marble than standard black enamel) and the surfaces are then buffed and honed to leave a smoother surface for easier regular cleaning by the family.

FINAL PUSH 🙌🏻

With just less than a week to go, one of our Directors Graeme is going to take the leap of faith with his sponsored bungee jump on Easter Monday 6th April 2026.

He is doing this to raise money for the amazing Ayrshire based charity Memories are Better than Dreams; a charity that helps create lasting memories for families with terminally ill children or who have suffered child bereavement.

We as a company see just how important these memories are for such families, they stay with us forever and that’s why this cause means so much to us as a company and to Graeme.

So far a small number of incredibly kind people have donated and we’re truly thankful for every single one.

Donations, no matter how big or small, really do make a difference, so please consider donating. However if you’re unable to donate for whatever reason, simply reacting to this post and sharing this post could mean just as much to reach further people.

We would like to extend our thanks to the family for allowing us to share this beautiful bespoke memorial for their baby boy.

Our “Blue Tatty Teddy” headstone sized at 2ft in overall height in a stunning Dark Bahama Blue Granite, with carved (back and front) and painted Patchwork Teddy Bear.

All the Teddy Bear stones that we supply are fully carved front, sides and back, and they are painted in an “antique” style finish with a customers choice of colours for patches/nose etc.

The text has been engraved and done in Silver Resin, complementing the grey tones of the Teddy Bear, with the family’s baby boy’s name done in Blue Resin to match the patchwork. The style of font chosen by the family is the Waltograph (Disney) font.

We would like to extend our thanks to the family for allowing us to share these images of their family memorial before & after.

The client for this headstone came to us as they were requiring an additional inscription to the stone, as well as the existing text to be renewed and the graphic redone.

Regardless if the headstone is one we have originally supplied, or from another monumental mason, we match all existing fonts to make the text flow seamlessly.

When we renew existing text, we remove any existing gold leaf/undercoats to allow for better application of Gold Resin. The text with the application of Gold Resin means that for future maintenance of the stone, the lettering can be cleaned without any fear of the Gold coming away.
