The generosity and care which this charity have given to Ayrshire families over the years means no bounds. We have collaborated with them over the years and they have helped so many families in funding for memorial stones and as a result we have helped so many families too in creating personal tributes for babies and children too.

One of our Directors, Graeme, is wanting to give back to the charity by doing a fundraising Bungee Jump. If any of you could spare anything to help him in fundraising for Memories are Better than Dreams to help them help so many more Ayrshire families who have terminally ill children or have suffered a child bereavement, it would mean the world.

We would like to extend our thanks to the family for allowing us to share these images of their family memorial before & after.

The client for this headstone came to us as they were requiring an additional inscription to the stone, as well as wanting the headstone cleaned due to lichen buildup, and the existing text to be renewed.

Regardless if the headstone is one we have originally supplied, or from another monumental mason, we match all existing fonts to make the text flow seamlessly.

When we renew existing text, we remove any existing gold leaf/undercoats to allow for better application of Gold Resin. The text with the application of Gold Resin means that for future maintenance of the stone, the lettering can be cleaned without any fear of the Gold coming away.

We at Ayrshire Memorials LTD love seeing older memorials brought back to life.

We would like to extend our thanks to the family for allowing us to share their family memorial.

Our “The Darwen” sized at 5ft in overall height in a stunning in Star Galaxy Granite.

This shape of stone has 1” chamfered edges, is a symmetrical stone with curved shoulders which lends itself well to having graphics on each shouldered area, or in this instance centred within the top curved area to balance it out.

For larger stones like this, we use an A-Frame gantry crane for safety and to maintain structural integrity of the headstone during the assembly/erection process.

The plinth is laid down first and installed on to two NAMM approved anchor pins to the council installed foundation. Then the letter plate is installed onto the plinth with stainless steel threaded dowels which are resined into dowel holes on the plate and plinth and everything is sealed to join the two sections of granite completing the assembly/erection process to full NAMM specification.

The family for this headstone decided on having the text and graphic done in Gold Resin, which complements the fleck in Star Galaxy Granite.

The graphic which sits within the top curve of the letter plate, is a stencil style engraving of the Drummond Family Crest.

We are now closed for the holiday period from 24th December 2025 - 5th January 2026

This year has been an exceptionally busy year for us and it is with thanks to all our clients who put their trust in us as we have served in helping them memorialise their loved ones with either new headstones or additional/refurbishment works.

We also would like to thank every one of you who have liked/followed us as a business here on our business page, liked photos of the work that we have done and shared the work that we do. This support helps greatly so we are very grateful for that.

The loss of a loved one is never easy, especially at Christmas time, and that's why we want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

We would like to extend our thanks to the family for allowing us to share their new family memorial.

Our “The Glen Heart” headstone sized at 3ft in overall height in a stunning Dark Bahama Blue Granite.

This is a customised version of a single-heart style memorial, featuring a recessed, heart-shaped letterplate that follows the natural outline of the heart. Beneath the heart shape has softly rippled shoulders flowing outward in gentle curves, forming an elegant cushioned effect.

The plinth for this stone has a centralised panel which champhers and arches from the midpoint outward toward the flower containers, which complements the curved nature of the letter plate.

The text has been engraved and done in Silver Resin, and to finish the stone off, a heartfelt sentiment of the dearly departed couple has been engraved within the arched area of the plinth.

We would like to extend our thanks to the family for allowing us to share their new family memorial for their dear baby boy.

A modified version of our 118-Belleisle (from our online brochure) sized at 3ft 6in in overall height in Indian Black Granite.

From our online brochure, this headstone shape typically has one heart at the top of the letter plate, however our client had specified that they wanted three hearts at the top.

The text has been engraved and done in Gold Resin on the main section of the letter plate and centre slope of the plinth.

At the top within each heart, the family had specified they wanted their dearly departed baby boy represented in a personal way. The centre heart has a 10cm Heart Photo Ceramic of their baby boy sleeping, along with his actual hand and foot print in the adjacent hearts engraved and done in a baby blue Resin.

To finish the stone off, truly personal heartfelt sentiments have been engraved within the sloped panel of the plinth.

We would like to extend our thanks to the family for allowing us to share their new family memorial and accompanying memorial vases.

Our “The Harrow” at 2ft 10in in overall height in Britz Grey Granite, and our 149-Cloncaird 6” Britz Grey Granite Cube Vases.

This headstone is an ogee top stone, shaped as a book with stepped pages, carved cord and tassel. It also has a concave section near the bottom of the letter plate, creating an elegant look. This shape of stone allows for a lot of versatility and also allows for multiple people on the stone as can be seen from the photos.

The text has been engraved and done in Gold Resin on both the headstone and accompanying vases.

Our client had wanted the book style stone to allow for multiple people long term, with the left page being for a dearly departed husband (and wife long term) and the right side for their son who was taken too soon.

Set within the top ogee section of the stone, the family had wanted a rose, and this had been engraved and done in Gold Resin.

Within the bottom rectangular section of the letter plate, the family had opted for their family name to be done in 2” sized text to showcase the family name.

To finish the main stone off, a heartfelt sentiment has been engraved within the right page of the stone, a sentiment which can apply to anyone mentioned on the stone.

The vases were supplied prior to the main stone arriving, so on one vase, this is for the most recently dearly departed and was placed prior to the headstone arriving as a grave marker. The second vase is a special sentiment of a loved brother from his siblings.

We would like to extend our thanks to the family for allowing us to share their new family memorial and accompanying memorial vase.

Our “The Eyeston” at 2ft 9in in overall height in Indian Black Granite, and our 149-Cloncaird 6” Indian Black Granite Vase.

This headstone is a contemporary shape with a cambered round top and has broad chamfered sides, with its plinth replicating the shape of the top of the stone.

The text has been engraved and done in Silver Resin on both the headstone and accompanying vase.

Our client wanted to show the love of her and her dearly departed husband on the headstone, and a way this has been done is with a stencil style engraved graphic of intertwined hearts in a ribbon style with each initial in the hearts with a pair of wedding bands threaded on the ribbon. This has been done in the top left corner of the letter plate.

To finish the main stone off, a heartfelt sentiment has been engraved along the front of the plinth.

The family had expressed that their dearly departed was an avid Hearts FC fan and wanted this shown at the grave. On the vase, we have engraved the Hearts FC logo on the vase to showcase this.
