Been to see G again. This was his 3rd session with lights, oils and herbs. No reactions to the lights today, just a feeling of well being. Took himself off when he felt he was sorted. Love it when that happens. Offered the same herbs and oils again this week to check how he was doing. Ate agrimony and valarian. Chose lavender and black pepper oils. This was a big shift. The last twice he has chosen emotional oils. Today they were ignored. His human is going to bring fresh lavender from her garden. He is also being offered golden paste daily. We both agreed that he is now feeling much better and much more emotionally balanced. He was cut very late and often shows stallion type behaviour. Today for the first time I saw none of these behaviours.
Another win for alternative therapies💕

Met a lovely older dog this week. (So taken with him i forgot to take a picture🙈). He is struggling with mobilisation and some of the meds have affected his tummy so his owners are worried about what to do next. He absolutely loved the red light pad and the torch. One of the oils he chose was lavender. Apparently he had been in their lavender plant self medication but his humans had not realised what he was doing. He was only eating a birch sapling. Clever chap. His mum is going to share her turmeric capsules with him (he also chose this essential oil) and will make him some lavender bags for the house💕.

Was working with a lovely horse yesterday. He was a bit jumpy with the change in the weather so I decided to give him some herbs and oils before thinking about putting my light on him far less trying to assess what was going on with his body.
His herb of choice was calendula.
His chosen oils were turmeric, neroli, to***co, lavender, german chamomile and frankincense .

Calendula - An excellent choice as this helps on a physical and an emotional level. It is antispasmodic, good for stomach problems especially if brought on by stress, anxiety/ depression. Calendula can promote feelings of security and comfort. It promotes calmness so helps if the animal or person is a worrier.

Neroli - Excellent choice as it has a very powerful phychological effect - promoting harmony and peace. It help settle past traumas. It is uplifting, calming, steadies nerves, good for nervous tummies, chronic diarrhoea as it is antispasmodic.

To***co - It is also an excellent choice for anxiety, if an animal/person finds it difficult to focus.

Lavender - Balancing, calming, sooths emotions, still the heart, physically it is good for muscular aches and pains as it is antispasmodic. It can soothe pent up energies.

Frankincense - Excellent for intestinal issues that have an emotional origin. It can help distance an animal/person from whatever is worrying them. Centres them. It helps slow the breathing another way of helping an animal/person to find calm.

German Chamomile - This boy knows what he needs! Good for soothing anxiety, for those who express emotions physically so become ill in some way rather than becoming very upset. This horse does both, but especially shows his emotions by becoming very short behind, through his skin around the withers and various other illnesses in the past. It is really good for unblocking the energy flow which has got stuck. Helps reduce anxiety and impatience.

Turmeric - Soothes imflammation (including gastric), it promotes a feeling of well being, and as most people know it is well known for improving the musclo skeletal system.

He also had a session with my red light torch. I worked along the bladder meridian getting results at BL 8, 9 at the poll and also at Bl 26,27,28,53,54, 56 - more on the left than the right.
I also got an excellent reaction GB 22 and Bl 18,19,20 when he was actually rocking to rebalance himself. The next place for good reactions was inside his hind legs - Kid 10, Sp9,10, St3029,28, 25,.
He was not keen to have his face done but he did react to ST 4,5,6, Si 18,19.
All of the herbs, essential oils and use of my lights help me build up a holistic picture of what is going on with this horse. I do not diagnose so I can only go on my findings and use them to explore how to help him further and share my opinion with his owner. Its clear from his choice of oils and herbs that his emotions are driving his physical issues so as well as using exercises and further light therapy it would be good to see how reliant he is on these oils and herbs or if we have caused a shift and he needs support in a differnt way.

Buzz session 30th May 2025

Chosen essential oils:
Valarian, Plai, Frankincense, Vanilla
Buzz has started displaying some ‘strange behaviour’ patterns in the evenings. His mum is keen to help him feel more comfortable in his surroundings again.
His mum has her own red light so we will also incorporate this into our routine and the oil blend I provide can be used on the acupoints as well as inhaled as required by Buzz.
Valarian: In this instance Buzz was fixated on this oil for quite a while and wanted to ingest some as well as spending quite a while inhaling it (no pics as it was raining and I was doing this outside). My interpretation of ‘why’ is that it is helping him reduce his anxiety and helping to ‘ground’ him. It will help him to relax as it sedates the central nervous system.
Plai: On the behavioural side this essential oil is helpful for confusion and agitation. This fits with the signs and symptoms Buzz has been displaying. Not a common choice so it is telling that he chose this specific oil. I was a little perplexed by this choice as its not at all what I associate this oil with so well-done Buzzy Boy with this choice. He was insistent and kept nosing around this oil until i picked it up for him. There was a lot of licking and chewing when he inhaled this oil.
Frankincense: I think of this oil as grounding, it gives you a hug. It is chosen for anxiety, restlessness, sensitivity to noise, not wanting to be in an enclosed space, various stereo typical behaviours -spinning, crabbing, pacing etc. Another good choice from Buzz regarding the recent behaviours he has been displaying. He spent quite a time with this oil, inhaling, leaving, inhaling leaving etc. different pattern to the other oils.
Vanilla: calming, comforting, nurturing. It eases frustration and is relaxing so is following his theme. He lay down after a huge inhalation of this and did a lot of yawning.
His mum will red light him using the acupoints shown and if Buzz indicates she can pop the oil blend on to the acupoint after lighting.

MACA
Its not something I'm too familiar with so after a friend gave me some I htought Ibetter do some research!

Endocrine:
This system is responsible for regulating metabolism, growth and development, tissue function, sexual function, reproduction, sleep, mood and response to stress and/or injury. Maca is an adaptogen, so it helps your endocrine system do its job – it balances things out.
Anxiety & Stress:
One of the symptoms of stress can be “adrenal fatigue” – maca can help this condition is by harnessing its adaptogenic qualities to regulate the hormones that are produced by this gland. An adaptogen will only go where it is needed, if your body is overproducing a hormone, it regulates it back to normal and if your body under-produces a hormone, it helps raise the level until it is balanced.
Energy & Mood Booster: Due to its rich nutritional content and adaptogenic qualities, maca has a positive effect on energy, stamina and mood. It is full of protein, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients – especially B Vitamins, which are brain boosting. This dense nutrition is also responsible for its ability to boost energy levels in a sustained and balanced way.
Sexual Health:
It positively affects fertility for both men and women. It helps balance hormones. This balancing effect also controls oestrogen levels in the body, increasing reproductive health and decreasing symptoms of PMS, PCOS and the menopause.

Hopefully as the end of the month approaches we can start to see some spring like weather more often.
Thus can give rise to the start of allergies both in ourselves and in our animals. These are a few essential oils which can help.
Eucalyptus
Camphoraceous and herbaceous aroma. Clearing and antiseptic.
Can be used in a steam inhalation or diffuser.

Peppermint
Sharp, light aroma. Gives a cooling, clearing effect.

Lavender
Gentle but effective antiseptic with calming, relaxing properties.
Helps with allergy-related skin irritation and promotes relaxation.

Tea Tree
Has antibacterial and antifungal properties that may help reduce airborne allergens. Use with care as some people/animals can react adversly to this eo.

Lemon
Light and sharp aroma. Antibacterial, uplifting and cleansing.

Chamomile
Soothes irritated skin and can help reduce allergies.

How to Use Essential Oils for Allergies

Diffuser: Add a few drops of essential oil to a diffuser to cleanse the air. If animals use the room make sure you leave the door open to allow them to leave.

Steam Inhalation: Add 2-3 drops to a bowl of hot water, cover your head with a towel, and inhale deeply.

Topical Application: Dilute with a carrier oil (like coconut or jojoba oil) and apply to the chest, temples, or under the nose. Do not apply topically to animals unless they ask for it.
