** RecoverED Wales is proud to be working alongside Gardd O Gobaith and seeing them achieve and their shortlisting. Please read below **

We would like to thank Bron Afon Social Housing for nominating Gardd O Gobaith for the Travis Perkins national Better Together Social Value Awards. The category Gardd O Gobaith was nominated to, ‘WE CARE’, recognises a community initiative that exhibits outstanding commitment and dedication to caring for individuals as well as fostering empathy and inclusivity. And we have some terrific news to add because the nomination has now been shortlisted into the top four places in the ‘We Care’ category – we’re finalists .

The adjudicators noted that the standard of entry across all categories was exceptionally high, making the final selection very difficult. So we are immensely proud of having national recognition.

What this shortlisting recognises at a local and national level is our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive place which rests at the heart of our community, run by and for people – enriched with their knowledge and genuine empathy alongside co-productive inclusivity.

We will update soon with information regarding the awards ceremony.

It’s been a busy 2025 and to sum it up: our work with a local university keeps increasing where we are delivering the unique Mental Health Awareness to hundreds of future frontline workers who want to support the work we do.
- And to top it off we have a great group of people who believe in the simplicity of people delivering to people – we call it RecoverED Wales.

So, we wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year for 2026.

On Monday 8th December another 80+ students took the Mental Health Awareness training Treforest campus. The training is mandatory and integral to the pre reg nursing professional practice. A big congratulations to the team at RecoverED Wales ✨

Are you creative, digitally savvy, and compassionate about community wellbeing?

Gardd O Gobaith (Garden of Hope) / RecoverED Wales are looking for a Social Media Lead Volunteer to help
us grow our online presence and share the inspiring work happening in our community garden/wellbeing hub in Upper Cwmbran.

What you’ll do:
- Create engaging content for our social media platforms.
- Capture and share stories from the garden and wellbeing hub.
- Help us to raise awareness.

What you’ll get:
- Training and experience that will benefit your CV.
- Flexible hours to suit you.
- A space to use your creativity.

A huge thank you we are so grateful to Smart Darts for your kind donation of a black dartboard surround for our novice community wellbeing dart group at Recovered Wales/Gardd O Gobaith. It’s certainly saving those holes in the log cabin. Thank you 😊

The team at RecoverED Wales have been busy renovating this cabinet, and it is now open to offers. All proceeds will go back into the upcycling project. Details are below:

** For Sale **

We think the cabinet is walnut - Victorian, and is known (we think) as a court cabinet (we’ve just done loads of Google searches, so this is no more than guess work). There is some ‘wear and tear’ damage - which we’ve repaired. We’ve used teak oil just to replenish the timber - so there’s scope to finish further - if wanted. We’ve really enjoyed watching the transformation but we are now looking for offers on the cabinet. And to be sure, any profits will be used purely for the development of a community focussed wellbeing space where we are basing the up-cycling group (amongst other things). We are not profit driven but we are passionate about developing a site which gives attention to sustaining our community wellbeing - and that includes reusing/recycling and reclaiming - in all its different forms. Please contact RecoverED Wales - if anyone wishes to enquire about the cabinet (or anything else).
