How often should I have a Massage ? 🤲🏼👐🏼

This is a question I get asked a lot in the treatment room! And this totally varies to each client depending on what your outcome of treatment is🙏🏼.. wether your looking for some down time from a busy lifestyle.. maintenance massage or pain management - Or all 3! ..

For relaxation 🧘🏼‍♀️:

Book your massage as often as you like! *& can afford* , massage is something we should all be fitting into our schedules, Prevention is better than cure so for maximum benefit booking a regular slot is highly recommended! 🙏🏼✨

For pain relief :

Leave at least 3 days in between treatments to allow the muscles to recover . Weekly or fortnightly sessions are best until the pain subsides. - always remember that if your not used to regular treatment, your body has been holding this tension for quite some time! (Sometimes a life time). Things can feel good after one session.. but it can take time and consistency to get your body responding how we want it too🙏🏼

For relief of knots :

Weekly is advised to fully work out the knots and thereafter monthly sessions are advised to prevent them from reoccurring, and maintaining 🙏🏼✨

B U R N O U T 🤯😶‍🌫️
Burnout can present itself as:

•Anxiety
•Lack of sleep & general fatigue
•Lack of creativity & purpose
•Emotional numbness
•A cynical outlook / Depersonalisation

Burn out is a chemical imbalance caused by the demands in your personal & professional life and how & if they are satisfied.

Jobs considered with the highest rate of burn out :

- Healthcare
- Social work
- Education
- Law enforcement

This is due to employees faced with being in a constant cycle of taking on high stressful situations , these are also environments where it is easy to take on stress from other people.. a lot of the scenarios in these work places can come with traumatic events that if unprocessed can result in spells of depression and anxiety.

But any of us can get to the burn out stage I have also been guilty of this myself until I learnt to set myself boundaries🙏🏼

Burnout ultimately happens when stress goes unaddressed and gets worse to a point where a person is struggling to cope, leading to mental and physical distress.

Ways to to help burnout😶‍🌫️:

Determining what has caused your burnout is the first step in managing it. There may be nothing new, but your stress has simply built up over time.

When you care for someone or others regularly, it can feel like your time is not your own. Managing your time and setting boundaries is a good way to regain control of what time you give to others and what time is for you.

- Learn to say no ✖️
A burden of being a caring person is that you can feel like you have never done enough for others or feel guilty if you don’t help those who ask. It may be that no one is asking anything unreasonable of you, but you are spinning too many plates at once.

Looking after your physical health can do wonders for your mind🏃🏼‍♀️🍎. Exercise is a proven stress reliever and eating a healthy diet affects chemicals in the body and brain which has a knock on affect on our overall well-being.

Make time in your schedule to unwind 🧘🏼‍♀️When managing your time, assign time each day to relax and unwind. It could be a daily bath, an hour of reading before bed, something which allows time for yourself to rebalance & recharge

•COLD WATER IMMERSION - HYDROTHERAPY•💦

I take part in the regular practice of cold water exposure every morning a cold shower is a beneficial ritual for me, but last weekend I did my first wild dip with a friend and I absolutely loved it!😍🌅 I highly recommend you give it a go for a positive impact on physical and mental well-being! 🙏🏼

Cold water therapy is the practice of immersing yourself in cold water this including Wild outdoor swimming, Ice baths, Daily showers. It is believed cold water therapy can improve your circulation, spiking energy levels and reducing inflammation within the body.

Many athletes use this practice to prevent or treat injury, but it is something that we can all par take in to benefit our physical and mental health.

Benefits of cold water therapy: 💦

- Reduces inflammation

- Boosts immune system

- Improves mood

- Improves circulation

- Hormone balancing

- Sharpens mental focus

- Improves sleep

- Boosts metabolism

Taking a cold shower every morning (after a warm shower) is a great start, It is important to gradually expose yourself to the cold temperature so timing yourself and working your way up to a longer amount time immersed in the water is ideal and also a great mental challenge🙏🏼💪🏼⏰ .
