Dear All,

As always, we are very grateful for your continued support during the pandemic.

Your visits to the Care Home are essential for the well-being of our residents and we are trying to maintain a safe environment for both our staff and residents.

Due to the surge in cases, please can we kindly request for you to NOT book an appointment if a member of your household has tested positive via PCR (if positive, please await 7 days before visiting from the date of the test).

Additionally, please refrain from visiting should you be experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms.

Our staff are working very hard and I take this opportunity to convey respect for their efforts. Any abuse towards our staff will not be tolerated.

We wish you a brighter new year and thank you for your support.

Dr Ayesha Ahmad

Dear All,

As of today, we are officially cleared and all our staff and residents are well. The vaccines are helping us greatly in preventing severity of symptoms and containing transmission as well as the huge efforts of all our staff members.

This means we can resume visiting to the Home, subject to negative LFD test on entry. Please do telephone to book an appointment if you would like to visit. (N.b: Aware that some phone calls have been made to the Home today to enquire about visiting but we have just received the official approval to remove our lockdown restrictions in the last 10 minutes).

Thank you for your continued support. Any queries or questions, of course please do contact.

Dear All,

We are not able to have visitors at Ty-Nant Care Home until further notice due to a current 'outbreak'.

The outbreak is contained and we are thankful for the vaccines, which are preventing any severity of symptoms.

We are currently under restrictions as administered by Public Health Wales.

I will post an update as soon as I have certainty about our reopening date.

Thank you for your continued support and patience.

Dear All,

As of today, our residents, as per updated Welsh Government guidelines, may have 2 designated visitors - either to visit at the same time or separately.

This is another positive step forwards.

All visitors must undergo a rapid lateral flow test before entering the Home and the appointment system is still in place.

Thank you for your understanding. I appreciate that we are still in difficult times. We must adhere to government regulations for the safety of our residents and staff - please do respect the two-person policy.

Thank you!
Dr Ayesha Ahmad

Dear All,

We sincerely thank you for all your patience and understanding.

In light of updated Welsh Government guidance for Care Homes, we are now able to invite 2 designated visitors per resident at Ty-Nant Care Home.

We must continue to provide a rapid LFD test on entry, and only 1 visitor at a time, but it is another step in the right direction as we continue to make progress.

Thank you for your continued support.
Dr Ayesha Ahmad

Dear All,

We hope you are all very well.

We are very happy to share positive news with you!

As a Home, the end of the year was a traumatic time with the pandemic reaching us.

Slowly, we have recovered. The new year has been more kind with the advent of the vaccine and an improving situation all round.

We are now very pleased to announce that as per the Welsh Government guidance, we can reopen our doors
to our visitors.

Our opening day will be Sunday 14th March, in time for our Mother's Day celebrations.

*Mother's Day is Open House*

We must still ensure our environment adheres to current public health measures, which are in place to continue to protect our residents until the vaccination programme is complete and the pandemic has further subsided.

Please kindly note the following:

1. ALL visitors are required to undergo a Lateral Flow Device (LFD) and wear a mask. Our staff are on hand to help you. LFD tests will take place in the foyer (1 person at a time) or in the carpark.

2. Entry into the Home or COVOS is only permitted on receiving a negative result. Test results take 20 minutes.

3. 1 visitor per resident.

4. Visits can take place in the COVOS (outdoor space) or in the resident's bedroom. All visits are APPOINTMENT ONLY. To make an appointment, call the Floor that your loved on is on in advance. (Appointments are from 15th March onwards up to 2 weeks in advance).

We are expecting that Mother's Day will be a busy day. We will place notices outside of the Home to provide guidance and are available to respond to your queries via message/telephone.

Welcome back!
Dr Ayesha Ahmad and all of us at Ty-Nant Care

Dear All,
We hope you’re all well during this time.
At Ty-Nant, we have been dealing with a lot and I’m sorry for not updating sooner, but we needed to respond to our situation and have clarity about where we stand moving forwards.
We do have a Covid-19 outbreak in our Home at this present time. We are doing everything that we absolutely can for all our residents.
Regrettably, we cannot invite visitors to the Home until at least the New Year. We need to be in lockdown until our outbreak is over and the infection rates have dropped in our communities. Anything we can do to facilitate your communication with the residents please let us know.
The year has indeed been very bleak. There is light on the horizon with the vaccine and I will bring further updates as soon as I can.
Please do be in touch anytime you wish.
Wishing you all well,
Dr Ayesha Ahmad

01/12/2020

Dear All,
We are now in a position to further update you about visiting Ty-Nant.
Unfortunately, we must remain in 'lockdown' until the Christmas period, when we will be able to resume visits if all goes well.
As per Public Health Wales guidance, we are conducting weekly routine testing for all staff. We have over 120 members of staff and with the prevalence of Covid-19 still remaining high in our surrounding communities, inevitably, we have had a second staff member with a positive test - who is asymptomatic and in self-isolation. All our residents are well and we are, of course, here 24/7 for any concerns or queries. This is an update for visitors and any confidential information will always be communicated directly to relatives.
Following a confirmed case, the policy is to 'lockdown' for 28 days. This means that our current closure, which was due to expire today, has been renewed until Christmas Day. We are praying for a Christmas Miracle where we can welcome our friends and relatives to the Home and working our very hardest to keep everyone safe and well.
We are hopeful for good news about the vaccine to help us protect our staff and residents in the near future, and I will update as well as take any queries or questions when we receive further clarification.
We are eternally grateful for all your understanding and support and on behalf of all staff and residents, we wish you well and will continue to update.
Dr Ayesha Ahmad

18/11/2020

Dear All,

On behalf of us all at Ty-Nant, we are aware that our phone-lines are down again. We are all safe and well and we are awaiting the phone company to get us up and running again.

Thank you for your understanding.

09/11/2020

Dear All,

Ty-Nant Care Home will need to remain closed to visitors until December 3rd. We are very sorry for this unfortunate news.
Our staff are routinely tested each week and an asymptomatic case has been confirmed.
As always, please feel welcome to contact us for any queries or concerns.
With the community prevalence decreasing, we hope that the overall situation will improve. I shall update nearer the time when visits can resume.

Many thanks for your understanding.
Dr Ayesha Ahmad

22/10/2020

Dear All
This is just to keep you updated.
Our phone lines are still in the process of repair but incoming calls to the Care Home are now working. As always, you can continue to contact us here if you prefer.
Today our “lockdown” period ends since we have been Covid-free for 28 days following the positive test of a staff member. However, since we are entering a national ‘Fire Break’, we will update about resuming visits to the Care Home at the end of this 2-week period.
The important thing is we are all well and hope that this finds you all very well too.
Please keep in touch whenever you wish.
