George Brooker House The East London Extra Care Society is a not-for-profit organisation that has provided quality aged care to the local community for over 20 years.

We specialise in providing care to the frail and elderly, and to those with dementia. George Brooker House sits in the heart of the local community in Dagenham, Essex overlooking green parkland. Built in the early nineties, our house was designed specifically to support the needs of older people requiring residential aged care. It offers single accommodation for 44 residents within a homely settin

This morning we came together and made some delicious scones 😋

Everyone enjoyed mixing all the ingredients together in order to get our scone mixture and then enjoyed rolling it out and cutting out our scones 🤗

It was lovely to see everyone get stuck in and watching them write their names in the flour 🥰

After all our scones were cut out and ready, We placed them on to baking trays for our amazing kitchen staff to cook ☺️

Once they were cooked and cooled down we added fresh cream and jam for everyone to enjoy and they went down a treat 😍

Today we took a lovely trip to Raphael Park where we enjoyed a nice stroll near the lake and sea the wildlife, we stopped for a nice picnic and a chat in the sunshine, took a stroll through the forest to see the trees and hear them rustling in the breeze. We stopped and had a ice cream near the lake where we enjoyed sitting in the glorious sunshine.

Wow, what a fantastic colorful afternoon we all had at St John's Church. We all had such a wonderful time full of fun music and dancing. The atmosphere was fantastic we all enjoyed spending time with our lovely friends at St John's and celebrating life it self no matter age or health.

This afternoon a few of our residents came together and we had a this is me reminiscing group 🥰 whilst some showed photos, others shared memorabilia ☺️

Each of them took turns to show photos of themselves and their families and shared precious memories that meant so much to them ❤️

They enjoyed also looking at olden day photos and were reminiscing about old times and how they all remember having to wear gas masks and things they would have to do. It was lovely to hear and see them all so engaged with sharing their memories,photos and memorabilia with each other 😊

Today we spent our morning making delicious pizza’s for everyone to enjoy at tea time 🍕😋

We started off by putting on tomato puree and extra cheese and then we all chose from a variety of toppings ☺️
we had ham,onion,tomatoes,peppers,sweetcorn and pepperoni 🧅🌽🫑🍅🍕

Everyone enjoyed filling up their pizzas and said how much they were looking forward to eating them 😍

We spent a lovely morning in the garden chatting over cups of tea and swapping stories with one another which was nice and some looking at the flowers and vegetables growing.🌻🌻🌻

In the afternoon I went around the home asking questions to the residents and what advice they would give etc.

It was great to have everyone thinking about each question and nice to give advice from a generation of people that are as strong as an ox, kind,caring,hard working and honest a generation of people that can never be forgotten.💗❤️💕😍

Today we took a trip to Romford to do a little shopping and have some lunch. We had a lovely afternoon full of great conversations and some retail therapy.
We all had a nice lunch and chatted over cups of tea and we were all happy to buy something new. 😁😍💕
