I am Amy and I am a qualified clinical hypnotherapist, Sleeptalk practitioner, coach and certified yoga teacher (CYT 200) offering a range of solutions that can help you cope with life's challenges - be it overcoming stress and anxiety, improving performance, taking control over a phobia, improving confidence and self esteem, changing behaviours and getting rid of unwanted habits or simply feeling better about yourself (amongst many others).

I first experienced hypnotherapy almost ten years ago and I've not looked back since! Experiencing it from a client's perspective and realising the profound changes it had on me led me to train as a therapist. I have a great passion for helping others and it is my privilege that I can support people to instigate the changes that they would like to make in their lives. I have seen so many wonderful success stories over the years and it has been a real pleasure to be with clients as they work towards what is right and appropriate for them.

I have been working in the area of training and personal development throughout my career having originally graduated with an honours degree in psychology. I built on this with further qualifications in teaching, training, professional coaching, clinical hypnotherapy and hypnobirthing. Working as a practitioner in this area for many years across the public, private and voluntary sector, I have found hypnotherapy to be an effective way of helping people to overcome barriers that are impeding their lives. I have worked with individuals and groups across the UK, Ireland and internationally to identify the personal and/ or team outcomes that are important to them. By tapping into their own unique set of skills, resources, and capabilities, I have supported my clients with identifying and implementing the changes they want to see in their lives. My hypnotherapy practice is underpinned by life coaching, self management, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), cognitive behavioural therapy and solution focussed brief therapy principles. Essentially, this means that I work in a direct and goal focussed way: what is it you want to achieve and what is the best way for you to get there?

An immense thank you to all the women who celebrated Ostara with me yesterday.

Through meditation, journaling, somatic and yin yoga, a soundbath and even a bit of clay modelling,it really was a gorgeous way to celebrate the balance of light and dark. This turning of the wheel invites us to plant intentions, embrace growth, and celebrate transformation in all its forms and this laid the basis for our day.

For each Celtic wheel celebration,I spend a lot of time considering how I decorate the studio. Yesterday was rich with Ostara symbolism:

🥚 Eggs – Symbols of fertility, creation, and infinite potential. Just as life emerges from within the shell, we are reminded of the dreams and possibilities waiting to be nurtured into being.

🦋 Butterflies – Messengers of transformation and rebirth. They remind us that change, though sometimes uncomfortable, leads to beauty, expansion, and new beginnings.

🌵 Succulents – Quiet symbols of resilience and self-sustaining growth. They teach us that even in challenging conditions, we hold the strength to thrive, conserve our energy, and bloom in our own time.

🌼 Flower Wreaths – Circles of life, unity, and the eternal return of the seasons. Wearing or creating a wreath connects us to the earth’s cycles and invites us to celebrate beauty, connection, and renewal.

🐚 Shells – Emblems of protection, intuition, and the gentle rhythms of nature. Formed by water and time, they remind us to trust our inner voice, honor our emotional tides, and carry our growth with us wherever we go.

Each of you left with a succulent; a reminder of the resilience that resides within and that after every winter, comes the spring. Oh and a chocolate egg… the Easter bunny made a quick fly by en route visiting the children of Dalgety bay 🐰

The next Celtic wheel celebration will be Bealtaine - the fire festival.

Happy Easter Sunday

Hoping the Easter bunny came and you’re ready to gorge yourself with chocolate.

There’s plenty waiting for me when I get home, but in the meantime,I’m putting the finishing touches on my studio to prepare for a wonderful group of women who will be sharing space with me today to celebrate OSTARA and the spring equinox.

Today’s celebration is all about light, balance and new beginnings.

Just finished setting up my studio in advance of the half day retreat tomorrow. I can’t wait to share Ostara with you all who are coming along. It’s going to be a lovely morning of movement, meditation, sound and simply putting the feet up.

Treated myself to a bottle of wine on the way back home to get stuck into my other job- writing the Easter bunny clues for the big day tomorrow 😝

It will be - I’m sure - the last year that both my children believe in Rico the bunny and his gifts. I’ve done such a good job over the years creating the magic that it’s going to be as much a loss to me as my kids. I’m really Peter Pan at heart

03/04/2026

We decided to dash away for a few days the week before last. Our flight was early morning, so by midday, we were sitting by the pool with a drink in our hand. I commented to my husband, that I felt like I had switched off immediately. He said he felt the same. But I’ve not always had this experience.

As we ease our way into Easter, many of you no doubt are heading away too. For others, it might be seen as a bit of an interruption.

I've always enjoyed Easter. It's like a prelude to summer in many respects.

But here’s the thing—if you’ve been running at full speed, constantly switched on, and hoping this break will be your chance to finally relax… you may not feel it is the refreshing break you had planned for (ever hear of that phrase, 'I need a holiday after the holiday')

Why?

Because your nervous system doesn’t just power down because the calendar says it should.

If you’ve been go-go-go… reacting quickly… holding tension… pushing through… ignoring what your body actually needs…

A few days off won’t necessarily instantly reset that. Especially if you have been heightened for some time

You bring the same nervous system with you into the break. It reminds me of that quote: “Wherever you go, there you are.”

So day one might feel great.

Day two, may be a little restless.

By day three, you’re scrolling, snacking, or snapping… wondering why you don’t feel how you thought you would.

It’s not that you’ve done anything wrong.

It’s just that no one really taught you how to slow down.

Rest isn’t just about taking time off.

It’s a skill.

And for a lot of high-performing, always-on people… it’s something that needs to be practiced.

So instead of waiting for the break to fix everything…

What if you started now?

Take a few moments today to pause.

Notice what’s happening in your body.

Breathe in a way that lets your system know it’s safe to soften.

One of my starting point in my one to one work, is to take a few intentional pauses 3-4 times during the day. Just 60 seconds to check in. Notice how you are feeling and to give your nervous system a well deserved pause. Outrageously simple really.

Nothing complicated.

Nothing time-consuming.

Just intentional.

Because when you learn how to shift your state…

That’s when time off actually begins to feel like rest.

Yesterday we said goodbye to our little mumma Guinea Pig, Emmie. We've got 11 other guinea pigs, but she was a special one: The most loving little cavy matriarch that helped my family and particularly my two little girls through a very dark time.

She came to us in October 21. My eldest daughter had just been discharged from hospital having contracted meningitis a few weeks earlier.

Most of my other animals have been rescues as is my preference, but as we were passing Pets at Home, my daughter asked me if she could get a guinea pig. On that drive down the road, away from the Vic hospital after her final dose of IV, I would have given my children anything - I was so darn grateful that they were both ok. That M word strikes the fear into any person and I was no different.

My husband - a fine balance to my heart led ways - wasn't with us on that particular trip and as we were musing about the possibility of getting a guinea pig, I remember asking my girls: 'Do we make the right choice or the scally wag choice'? My biggest recollection is of my then 3 year old shouting: 'Scally wag choice, scally wag choice'. What could I do? But pull off the junction leading to Pets at Home having a reconnaissance visit to investigate the possibility of getting guinea pigs.

My girls first looked at the guinea pig babies but eventually decided that they wanted to give two more senior ladies - little rescues that they named Emerald and Spirit - a home with us. These little ladies gave my girls such a lovely focus whilst we were still reeling as a family after what we had been through.

For anyone who has never had the pleasure of caring for piggies, their little squeaks and nuzzling into your neck and shoulders make them the most loving and gentle of pets.

We lost Spirit in February of last year and little Ems rallied on for much longer than we could ever have hoped for. But burying her little body last night alongside her sister brought up so many thankful memories. It's funny how such a tiny little creature can symbolise so much.

Grief is an inevitable part of life and loss is such an important lesson- especially for my children who have less experience than those of us who are more battle scarred. But my overriding sense as we were burying her and saying our final words, was of gratitude for those little souls who helped keep my little human family ticking when we were trying so desperately to find our way again.

🛑 Yoga classes and setting boundaries

Setting boundaries and saying no is a theme that has frequently emerged in my one to one therapeutic work.

When themes emerge consistently in my therapy room, I tend to bring it into my yoga classes - you can bet your bottom buck that it is a trend for people more generally.

So that is what classes are all about this week. (And I’m running it again tonight if you want to join us)

Do you know that feeling when your body knows your boundary is violated?

I talk about the vagus nerve a lot in my yoga classes - longest cranial nerve in the body and in the cliff note version of what it does - responsible for helping you find calm, assuring you that you are safe.

It also acts like a boundary detector. Constantly scanning your environment to establish that you feel safe. it communicates through sensations.

If you are in a situation where you don't feel safe/ your boundary is violated, you might feel things like:

⚡️ Your tummy tightening if someone gets too close

♥️ Your heart racing when you see an email or text notification

🔔 your shoulders tightening

All of these sensations are your nervous system trying to keep you safe.

It's an internal companion that is automatically setting boundaries for you.

Even at times when your mouth says yes, these feelings are your body saying 'NO'.
It's not weakness, It is your body in its ultimate wisdom.

Boundaries are not just how we express ourselves through words. They are ways we act. Signals.

Boundary setting is threaded throughout the entire class this week. It is an opportunity yo establish where your personal boundaries lie.

It is an invitational pause to help you reset rather than to people please.

And a way to help you to say YES to what you want more of and NO to those things and people who do not fill your cup.

This class is about teaching your nervous system that safety is possible.

It is an hour to remind you that you are allowed to take care of yourself.

A reminder that your voice is important.

A reminder that your needs are important.

An opportunity to help you to free yourself from the people pleasing and saying YES to those things that are not for you.

So if you struggle with boundaries, this class is about establishing your boundaries and teaching your vagus nerve that it can feel safe. I'll be teaching it again tonight and Sunday of next week.

If you feel a call to join us, there is space in many of my classes at the moment

💓 Monday @ 9.25 (yin)

☀️ Monday @ 10.30, 6 and 7.05 (hatha meditative)

💓 Tuesday @ 5.55 and 7 (hatha meditative)
