I am Amy and I am a qualified clinical hypnotherapist, Sleeptalk practitioner, coach and certified yoga teacher (CYT 200) offering a range of solutions that can help you cope with life's challenges - be it overcoming stress and anxiety, improving performance, taking control over a phobia, improving confidence and self esteem, changing behaviours and getting rid of unwanted habits or simply feeling

better about yourself (amongst many others).

I first experienced hypnotherapy almost ten years ago and I've not looked back since! Experiencing it from a client's perspective and realising the profound changes it had on me led me to train as a therapist. I have a great passion for helping others and it is my privilege that I can support people to instigate the changes that they would like to make in their lives. I have seen so many wonderful success stories over the years and it has been a real pleasure to be with clients as they work towards what is right and appropriate for them.

I have been working in the area of training and personal development throughout my career having originally graduated with an honours degree in psychology. I built on this with further qualifications in teaching, training, professional coaching, clinical hypnotherapy and hypnobirthing. Working as a practitioner in this area for many years across the public, private and voluntary sector, I have found hypnotherapy to be an effective way of helping people to overcome barriers that are impeding their lives. I have worked with individuals and groups across the UK, Ireland and internationally to identify the personal and/ or team outcomes that are important to them. By tapping into their own unique set of skills, resources, and capabilities, I have supported my clients with identifying and implementing the changes they want to see in their lives. My hypnotherapy practice is underpinned by life coaching, self management, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), cognitive behavioural therapy and solution focussed brief therapy principles. Essentially, this means that I work in a direct and goal focussed way: what is it you want to achieve and what is the best way for you to get there?

A word of warning for my vinyasa ladies…..

I’m sorry…. I’ve done it again. This week’s class will be nasty.

I’m using my time wisely whilst the studio floors are getting done.

You’ll feel good after. But I’m not sure you’ll thank me mid balancing plank (yes, there is such a thing 😹)

See you Sunday @ 5.10. Bring your wrist bands and some extra water 😰

And if you’re not in my vinyasa class and feel a deep yearning need to join us,there’s one space available.

Not for the faint hearted. And not ideal for beginners

I spend so much time speaking to other women about their stories.

Here's a little of mine. My name is Amy and my heart led passion in my business is to support and champion women in all stages of life; as they navigate motherhood, work and through that messy middle stage where many of us are doing our best to muddle through and still find those snapshots of hope and (hopefully) joy.

My therapeutic work revolves around all of this.

So too do the themes that I explore each week in my weekly yoga classes.

I want the topics to resonate with you. And so I listen... those conversations we have before and after the class starts, those women who share so much of themselves in my therapy room - I take it all on board and do my utmost to offer you relatable and accessible services that help you navigate life with greater ease and clarity.

My journey has most definitely not been a straightforward one.... (whose has?). I've juggled mental health challenges, motherhood, grief, the challenges of building a business, self doubt, burnout and learning to rise from those ashes.

When I started to build my business - initially as a little nomad hopping from venue to venue and more recently as a bricks and mortar business owner, my aim was always to have a welcoming space where women can show up EXACTLY as they are. Whether they are pi**ed off with life, or celebrating wins. Whether they are ambitious. Or hopeful. Or exhausted. Or rebuilding themselves. Or simply looking for a place to lay their hat (mat!!) for an hour or two, it's all welcome.

I want you to land AS YOU ARE. You do not need to do everything (or anything perfectly). Sometimes surviving your Winter (whether it is seasonal or personal) is enough. I am here to support you where you are at.

Because your story matters. And I hope that I (and my space) can help you to develop YOUR story. Whether that is supporting you to develop peace. Or ease. Or confidence. Or greater alignment with yourself... that is my hope for you (and for me)

Because your story matters.

☀️ Soundbath and yoga nidra (no movement just rest and restore)

I've been inspired by the glorious weather. After being on pause for a couple of months, I've decided to host a soundbath combined with a yoga nidra (meditation only... no movement!) to celebrate the solstice. This will be a slightly longer event than usual so as to incorporate the seasonal yoga nidra.

If you would like to join us, please drop a line to book. Here are all the details of this and other upcoming events.

Hope to see you there

I remarked to my husband recently that I rarely get sick. So much so that I can't actually remember the last time I was. I did a deep dive to understand what science might lie behin it and I made the most remarkable discovery about the amazingness of the body and how it truly is its own best medicine cabinet.

Data has shown that practising gratitude for a few minutes a day leads to the body making a protein called immunoglobulin A. Described as the 'body's natural flu shot', it is a vital antibody protein that acts as a first line of defense against infections, mainly protecting the respiratory and digestive system tracts. It is found in high concentrations in saliva, tears, sweat, and breastmilk, preventing bacteria and viruses from entering the body.

Imagine that a study has shown that practising gratitude three times a day over four days (15 minutes in total). brings a 50% increase in this protein.

You can actually programme your body and your autonomic nervous system to create a natural pharmacy to promote your growth and recovery.

So when you change your state of mind, be prepared for the amazing synchronicities and opportunities and joys that will come your way.

You can teach your body

I don't know why I call somatic yoga class 'yoga'. Sure I pull out a few yoga shapes from time to time, but for the most part we are:

👧 Tapping

🫨 Shaking

🤜🏻 Punching

🦵 Kicking

😱 Sometimes even screaming.

⚡️ And boy is it cathartic.

This has been my office for the past few days and I have been busy with the music blaring in the studio, whilst I’ve been choosing the best tracks possible to support our healing.

Next Sunday's somatic yoga session is all about ESTABLISHING BETTER BOUNDARIES.

It's going to be fast. It's going to furious. And it is going to be sprinkled with more than a dollop of girl power choons from the 90s and 00s.

If you would like to join us, there's still a few spaces left. Here's the information for the next date and for upcoming ones beyond....

🧘 Yin yoga (for seniors. And others!) - EVENING CLASS?

This is probably my most soothing class…. The most gentle movement imaginable threaded through with meditation

My yin classes were a response to someone asking me last year if I would host a yoga class for seniors.

After giving it some thought, I decided that yin would be something that was different to what I was currently offering. But also the kind of class that was accessible for most people irrespective of age.

Yin is such a joy to host every week.

It’s different to my other offerings in that we focus on gently stretching the connective tissues rather than muscles.

Holding poses for between 3-5 minutes, this session truly is a refreshing pause at the beginning of the week

We use props - all provided - including bolsters and blocks to support you through the poses.

The group is very much mixed ages which offers a beautiful dynamic.

Each week is themed and today’s class is all about opening the heart chakra.

A few people have asked if I would host an evening class and so I’m putting the feelers out as to whether there might be greater interest in this. If I go ahead,it would most likely be held Monday or Tuesday evening at 5PM.

Drop me a line either on Messenger or email (amy@elementshypnotherapy.com) to express interest.

Here's something that might be of interest to women in peri/ menopause.

This is a copy and paste from a marketing email for a free menopause summit happening in a few weeks. Here is the link to register for those that are interested: https://ashleyturner.lpages.co/menopause-mental-health/

Medicine is not equipped to handle the reality most midlife women are living, and the numbers make it impossible to ignore.

35.6% of peri/menopausal women meet clinical criteria for depression.
People in perimenopause are 7x more likely to report suicidal thoughts than women at any other age.
66% of the women who go to their doctor about menopause-related mood changes walk out with an antidepressant prescription instead of answers.
The divorce rate among women over 50 has nearly tripled since 1990, peaking in the exact same years as perimenopause.
And $26.6 billion leaves the U.S. economy every year because women are leaving the workforce at the height of their earning power, quietly, without support, and without answers.
This is not a hormone problem with a simple fix. This is a convergence that is being under studied, under treated and unexplored.

If you are or have struggled in midlife...you are not alone.
And, it is not your fault.

Peri/menopause lands at the same moment as aging parents, shifting marriages, empty nesting or even new motherhood, grief about roads not taken, body image upheaval, ageism, low libido, identity loss, and a nervous system whose resilience has measurably dropped.

And the women going through it are being offered antidepressants or told to take HRT and come back in six months.

THE PROBLEM: Most women end up navigating the very real mental-emotional challenges of midlife alone and without a real framework.

While menopause educators may mention that depression and anxiety are symptoms, few offer in-depth solutions and tools to support the immense psychological and spiritual shifts we go through in midlife.

Register for this free summit here which explores how to support women in mid life: https://ashleyturner.lpages.co/menopause-mental-health/

Boost your confidence, mood, motivation and mental health in perimenopause, menopause and midlife. Learn the best practices in both western and integrative medicine to alleviate your symptoms and rise into your greatest power, authority and voice yet!
