The Tuesday service will operate as normal for South patients.

For North patients the last delivery day will be the 18th December, this service will resume on Thursday 8th January. Patients without transport can submit prescription requests early.

We will be closed all day on the following public holidays:

Thursday the 25th of December 2025
Friday the 26th of December 2025
Thursday the 1st of January 2026
Friday the 2nd of January 2026

If you take regular medications, please ensure you check you have enough left to cover whilst the practice is closed. It’s also important not to over order, so only request what you need, and make sure you don’t run out of anything during that time.

If you are ill during the days the practice is closed, and you can’t wait until it reopens, help will be available from a range of NHS services, from your pharmacy and minor injuries unit, to NHS Inform and NHS 24 on 111.

During the October School holiday:

There won’t be any deliveries on Tuesday 14th, Thursday 16th, Tuesday 21st October, and Thursday 23rd October.
We continue to need 2 full working days from receiving your request to having medications ready for pick up.
Acute medications will be dispensed and issued as normal.
For repeat medications during the holiday please help us to manage the dispensary and your medication readiness by keeping to the pickup times of:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday - from 2pm to 5pm.
If you need to pickup at other times please phone or email first.

For all potential users of SUMP services please note that the imminent storm is forecast to affect all local services on Friday 3rd October. Although the phone will be manned the practice will close for the rest of the day at 12:30. You will not be able to pick up medication after that time. Please ensure that we have enough time to address any pressing queries or concerns before then. Thank you for your understanding. SB

South Uist Medical Practice Delivery
Please note that for those who did not manage to get their Repeat Medicine requests in to us before Friday afternoon (just past), your medications will not be ready for the delivery going out to the south tomorrow (Tuesday 30th). We do really need the 2 working days’ notice in order to complete the dispensing and preparation of your medications. Those that don’t get delivered will be available for pick up after 2pm on Wednesday (1st October).
