We are recruiting.

We have a vacancy for a medical receptionist.

Admin or customer service experience preferable but not essential.
Full training will be provided.

20 hours per week Monday to Thursday.
This will include early (8am starts) and a late finish (6.30 or 7.30pm)

Flexibility and willingness to cover absence and Holidays is a requirement of the position.

We had an engineer come yesterday to look at our phone lines. They seem to be fixed, however, they have said we may need a replacement device if they fail again.

We are still experiencing issues with the main phone lines.

We have purchased a mobile phone to help with the incoming calls, please be aware that the number can only take one call at a time and if you hear the engaged tone you will need to call back as we cannot queue the calls as would normally happen.

We are still having issues with our telephone lines despite an engineer coming out to fix the issue. We have raised the issue again with the telephone company and appreciate your patience with this.

Please be aware that we are having to use alternative methods to contact patients, you may receive a call from a withheld number, don’t be alarmed this may be one of our members of staff trying to contact you.

Aprils appointments

During the month of April our team offered and booked 2656 appointments across our GP’s, Nurses, HCA’s, physios, pharmacists and mental health practitioners.

During the month of April, 71 appointments were not attended including 15 routine face to face GP appointments, 3 24hour GP appointments and 9 same day urgent GP appointments.

10 blood sampling appointments were not attended meaning other patients may have had to travel to FGH as our blood appointments are often at capacity.

If you cannot attend a pre-booked appointment please remember to respond to your reminder text, give us a call (the lines are often quieter later in the day) or pop in.

When our reception team are asking for details when booking an appointment it’s to direct you to the correct member of our team or other appropriate service.

March appointments.

During the Month of March our team offered and booked 2739 appointments across our GP, Nurse, HCA, physio, pharmacy and Mental health services.

65 of those appointments were not attended including 4 same day face to face urgent GP appointments, 3 next day face to face GP appointments and 9 routine GP face to face appointments.

Several hours of nurse clinical time were lost due to patients not attending pre-booked appointments.

Please do let the surgery know if circumstances change so that we are able to offer the appointments to other patients in need and re-offer something more suitable for yourself if necessary.

You can cancel simply by replying “cancel” to your reminder text, giving us a ring, or popping into the surgery.
