Sometimes the most powerful question we can ask ourselves is not “What more should I do?” but rather…

“What can I release?”

Release the tension we carry in the body.
Release the expectations that weigh on the heart.
Release the stories that tell us we must always give more than we receive.

When we gently let go, we create space —
space for love,
space for self-care,
space for our own inner power to rise.

At Oasis of Calm Massage, we hold space for that softening and release. A moment where the body can unwind and remember what it feels like to be supported.

If you feel the call to create more space within, you are warmly invited for a nurturing massage with Kasia or Adam.

Sometimes letting go is the first step back to yourself.

What if living more fully didn’t require doing more… but feeling more?

So many of us have learned to move through life from the mind — planning, thinking, pushing forward. Yet our bodies carry a deeper wisdom. When we slow down enough to listen, the body gently guides us back toward pleasure, softness, and aliveness.

To reconnect with the simple joy of being in our bodies is a quiet revolution. It may look like breathing more deeply, moving in a way that feels good, resting without guilt, or allowing touch to remind us that we are supported.

Somewhere in our ancestry there were women and man who lived close to this knowing — attuned to nature, to rhythm, to the healing power within their hands, their voices, and the earth itself. That memory still lives within us, inviting us to return to a life that feels more connected, more embodied, more alive.

Each of us can ask:
What small step today would bring more pleasure, more presence, more life into my body?

At Oasis of Calm Massage we hold space for this reconnection — a place where the body can soften, release, and remember its natural harmony.

You are warmly invited to experience this through a nurturing massage session with Kasia or Adam, and allow your body to guide you back to the simple beauty of being fully here.

Gratitude doesn’t have to be reserved for special moments. It can be a gentle ritual woven into everyday life.

Sometimes it is simply pausing for a breath and noticing the warmth of the sun on your face, the comfort of a quiet cup of tea, or the feeling of your body softening after a long day. When we consciously choose to see the small things we can be grateful for, our attention shifts. Life begins to feel a little softer, a little fuller, a little more supportive.

Gratitude is not about ignoring challenges — it is about remembering that even within them there are moments of light.

At Oasis of Calm Massage, we love creating spaces where you can reconnect with that sense of appreciation for your body, your breath, and the simple gift of slowing down.

If your body is asking for rest, care, or a moment just for you, we warmly invite you to book a nurturing massage session with Kasia or Adam.

Sometimes gratitude begins with the simple act of allowing yourself to receive.

Tomorrow we welcome the energy of the New Moon — a beautiful moment of new beginnings, quiet reflection, and planting seeds for what we wish to grow in our lives.

The New Moon invites us to slow down, turn inward, and listen gently to the whispers of our heart. It is a time to release what no longer serves us, set intentions, and create space for fresh possibilities to unfold.

We feel this energy aligns perfectly with a new beginning of our own — our first Sound Bath at The Curiosity Cabinet. ✨

Together we will rest, breathe, and allow the healing vibrations of sound to support the body and mind in resetting, rebalancing, and reconnecting.

If you feel called to pause, soften, and welcome this new lunar cycle with intention, we would love to share this space with you.

Join us tomorrow evening at The Curiosity Cabinet.

Bruce Lipton is a cell biologist and author whose work bridges science and consciousness. Through his research in epigenetics, he explored how our thoughts, beliefs, and environment can influence the way our cells behave. His teachings invite us to see the body not as a fixed machine, but as a living, responsive system that can shift and heal when we nurture the right inner and outer conditions.

Inspired by this understanding of the body’s natural wisdom, we hold space at Oasis of Calm Massage for moments of deep rest, reconnection, and gentle healing.

You are warmly invited to experience this for yourself – whether through a nurturing massage session with Kasia or Adam, or by joining our collective healing space during our next Sound Bath this Thursday.

If you feel the call to pause, breathe, and allow your body to soften, you can join us here:

This morning my son jumped into my bed and asked,
“Mummy, who is your favourite person in the whole world?”

I paused. My mind immediately went to my family — wanting to include him and my partner — knowing they are my favourites in their own unique ways. I was still thinking when I turned the question back to him.

“And what about you?”

Without a second of hesitation, with total certainty, he said:
“Of course, after myself, I have about nine favourite people… including two doggies.”

And there it was.
Confidence. Self-love. No apology. No doubt.

Children have this beautiful, natural knowing — that loving yourself doesn’t take love away from anyone else. It simply makes more room for it.

This turned my reflection towards myself… and I ask you too:

What would it take for you to be your favourite person in the world? 💛

How Sound Baths Support the Nervous System 🧘‍♀️

A Sound Bath uses instruments like crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes to create rich, layered sound waves that the body feels as well as hears. These vibrations interact with the nervous system through two main pathways:

🎵 Entrainment — Our brainwaves naturally synchronise with external rhythms. Sustained tones from bowls and gongs can guide us into more relaxed brainwave states (like alpha and theta), which are associated with calm, creativity, and deep relaxation.

🧠 Vagus Nerve Stimulation — The vagus nerve is a major regulator of the parasympathetic nervous system (our “rest and digest” mode). Slow, resonant sound patterns can stimulate vagal activity, helping to reduce stress responses and lower heart rate.

💆‍♀️ Sensory Regulation — Immersive sound engages multiple sensory pathways, promoting a shift away from fight-or-flight and toward deeper body awareness, emotional release, and restorative states.

Scientific Benefits Documented from Sound & Vibrational Therapies

While research is still growing, studies and clinical observations have shown benefits such as:

🌿 Reduced stress and anxiety
🌿 Lowered heart rate and blood pressure
🌿 Enhanced mood and emotional regulation
🌿 Increased feelings of relaxation and wellbeing
🌿 Improved sleep quality
🌿 Heightened mindfulness and present-moment awareness
🌿 Reduction of muscle tension
🌿 Support for nervous system balance

These effects tie into well-understood nervous system mechanisms — particularly shifting from sympathetic (“alert”) to parasympathetic (“rest”) dominance.

Lately, I’ve been deepening my work by exploring the connection between body-based practice, Cognitive Therapy, and the Humanistic approach.

Cognitive Therapy teaches that our beliefs and automatic thoughts shape our emotional responses. In bodywork, I often witness how those same patterns show up physically as tension, contraction, or protective holding in the body.

The Humanistic approach reminds us that healing happens within a safe, accepting relationship. When we feel truly seen and not judged, our system softens. This mirrors what I observe in sessions: the body begins to release not because it is forced, but because it feels safe.

Somatic bodywork recognises that the body carries lived experience. Rather than simply “fixing” muscles, it involves listening to sensations, tracking breath and nervous system responses, and creating enough safety for the body’s innate regulatory capacity to activate. It’s not about forcing release, it’s about supporting the body to reorganise itself.

For me, this integration feels like a natural evolution: combining compassionate presence, awareness of thought patterns, and trust in the body’s wisdom.

Healing unfolds when both the mind and body are given space to be heard.
