What a fantastic day we had yesterday at the Care home Olympics, the residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They showed that no matter your age your capable of doing amazing things. They loved showing off their skills and receiving their medals.

At the end of the games we were tied for 1st place so an extra staff race was decided to crown the winning Care Home.

And the winner was................................
Grosvenor Park care home

We are so proud of our residents they practiced really had and showed a lot of determination to win.

A big thank you to Firthmoor Community Centre for allowing us to use their court.

Maidendale nursery for coming over to cheer our residents on.

Kevin Nicholson for coming and supporting the games and presenting medals to the residents.

Riverside View Care Home, Eden cottage, The Lawns and The Grange for taking part and showing real team spirit.

And finally to all the residents that took part and that came to watch, without you this wouldn't have been possible.

Well done to everyone we can't wait to see you all again for next year's games its going to be even bigger (watch this space)

2 weeks to go until our first ever Care Home Olympics!
Please join us at Firthmoor Community Centre at 2pm on the 18th September to cheer on our very talented residents.
From the classic egg and spoon race to a newspaper race and more there's a game for everyone's ability. There's also a bonus staff wheelchair race where residents can cheer on their carers and have a good giggle watching the carers holding on tight as they race up the track 🤣
There's medals for the winners and the winning Care Home will take home a trophy to proudly display in their home (until next year when the fun starts again)
