Hospice Care is Just for Older People? Think Again.

At St Teresa’s Hospice, we provide compassionate care to people of all ages, from young adults to centenarians, and we support their families and loved ones every step of the way.

Our hospice is here for anyone who needs specialist care, whether that’s managing symptoms, offering emotional support, or helping families navigate a difficult time. Every person deserves dignity, comfort, and care tailored to their needs, regardless of age.

Hospice care is about quality of life, compassion, and support, not age. We’re proud to serve our community, inclusively, ensuring that everyone who needs us can access the care they deserve. 💚

Please share your views about end-of-life care in this NHS survey to help shape future services in our local area.

Thinking about death and dying can can be difficult for some people, so please only answer these questions if you feel able to 💚

Would you like to help shape future palliative or end-of-life care in Darlington?

Palliative care supports people who are living with an illness that unfortunately cannot be cured. This illness may be cancer but is more likely to be a long-term condition such as serious heart or lung disease where cure is not possible. It focuses on helping someone feel as comfortable as possible in body, mind and spirit, while also supporting their family and carers.

End-of-life care is a form of palliative care given when a person is approaching the final stages of life.

The anonymous online survey asks for views on where you would like to receive palliative care, the most important aspects of end-of-life care to you, whether you have any written plans for your care and how you would like to be supported to find out about care options.

You can complete the survey here: https://app.onlinesurveys.jisc.ac.uk/s/nencicb/thoughts-about-end-of-life-and-end-of-life-care or scan the QR code on screen.

The survey closes on 9 February.
