The MMRV vaccine protects against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chickenpox) and is an important part of the childhood vaccination schedule.

If your child has missed any vaccines, or if you have recently moved to the UK from another country, it is never too late to catch up. The NHS offers free catch-up vaccinations to help ensure children and adults are protected and up to date. Checking your vaccination record and booking missing doses can help protect both your family and the wider community. πŸ’‰πŸ›‘οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦βœ¨

Christmas can be stressful and emotionally challenging, especially for people with dementia and their families. Here are some tips to help you prepare. πŸ’™

πŸ•°οΈ It can be helpful to try to maintain some normal routines over Christmas.

πŸ›’ Vital services like pharmacies, shops and GPs have reduced opening hours over the Christmas period. Planning ahead ensures you have everything you might need.

πŸ•―οΈ Think about how you can adapt traditions so the person with dementia can continue to participate.

🎁 The person with dementia could help with festive preparations, such as wrapping presents, sending cards or putting up decorations.

🍽️ Consider if there’s any food the person with dementia prefers, and the portion sizes they normally eat.

🎬 You could ask a friend or family member to sit with the person with dementia, listen to music or watch your favourite film.
