I’m running the Great North Run this Sunday!

As many of you know, my Dad’s partner Sharon sadly passed away recently after a battle with Lung cancer. I’m running this week in memory of her.

Sharon was loved by everyone she met and she had a special relationship with her four daughters (Kirsty, Tamara, Shannon and Courtney) and her grandchildren (Tommy, Maya, Connor and Violet).

Being as selfless as Sharon was, she asked anyone who wanted to raise money for charity to donate to the Deaf Children’s Charity.

This charity was especially close to her heart as they have helped her granddaughter Maya throughout her life.

If you can spare donations of any value they would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼 The just-giving page is saved in my bio.

Good luck to everyone else running on Sunday and I hope you all raise money for great causes 💙

Very emotional week as we wish Jack the best of luck in his next venture!

Jack has worked at the clinic for 5 years and has been a key part of the success of JFP!

He’s helped thousands of our clients achieve their goals and he’s ticked off a few personal milestones of his own along the way including getting a First in his Physio masters degree🎓

It’s been a pleasure to watch him develop into the Physio he is today and we know he’ll continue to strive in his future role!

Due to overwhelming interest in this year's 10k, registrations for the event have closed early.

The event is at capacity with a staggering 2,500 runners signed up to take part!

Another incredible achievement from our clients Grant & Joe!

Ultra Wales 2025 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

A 50 mile Ultra Marathon with over 10,000 ft of elevation! Over 14 hours and ended up more like 53 miles 😅

A special mention to Grant who had been working hard on a knee injury for a few months prior to the event. We implemented his rehab alongside his running to keep his conditioning level right for the event.

Well done again gents 👏🏼 what’s next on the list? 👀

Meet Michael – a great example of what targeted, progressive rehabilitation can achieve ✅

Back in January 2025, Michael came to see Jack in clinic with a 1 year history of left shoulder pain that was affecting his sleep, training, and daily life. His initial testing showed signs of rotator cuff-related shoulder pain – potentially a supraspinatus tear – with some significant strength deficits:

👉 68.2% weakness in shoulder abduction (lateral motion) (see slide 2)
👉 52.4% weakness in shoulder flexion (forward motion) (see slide 3)

Jack & Michael collaborated to begin a tailored strength & conditioning programme, 2–3x per week, designed to fit around Michael’s work and lifestyle.🗓️

With monthly check-ups, incorporating ActivForce2 dynamometer assessments, the discrepancy in strength gradually, and consistently reduced.

Fast forward to July 2025:

✅ Only 7.3% difference in abduction strength (see slide 4)
✅ Just 4.2% difference in flexion strength (see slide 5)
✅ No more night pain, no activity limitations, and he’s lifting heavier than ever

Michael’s story shows how objective testing like dynamometry can guide and track real-world recovery — and why structured rehab really works when it’s consistent, specific, and personalised.

Huge congratulations to Heather, Jamie, and Dan, our incredible clients, for completing The Wall ultramarathon on June 14-15th! The Wall is a 70-mile race event from Cumbria to Newcastle, following the length of Hadrians Wall. It is an outstanding achievement that showcases their hard work and dedication. We're honored to have played a small part in their journey and can't wait to see what's next! Congratulations again! 🏃🏻‍♀️🗻🥇

Judith completed most of the events over the age of 60 and she is now 71 and ticking off half marathons around Europe! Next stop Iceland 🇮🇸

She’s a massive inspiration and hope we can help keep her running for many years to come 👏🏼
