Happy burns night 🏴
Reposted from Happy !
Robert Burns and Scotland go together like haggis, neeps and tatties, and this famous poet was born today in 1759.
In Scotland, many will be celebrating the bard through a Burns Supper. It’s a night involving poems, whisky and haggis, ending with a toast and a tune.
Burns became a literary superstar at just 27, publishing hundreds of songs and lyrical poems in his lifetime including the internationally famous, Auld Lang Syne – you know the one!
The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and visitor centre Alloway is a good starting point for learning more about his life and legacy, and we think it’s one of the best things to do in Ayrshire!

✨ Fantastic News ✨
After almost a full year away from the treatment room due to knee issues and surgery, we’re both absolutely delighted to share that Kathryn is returning to the treatment room 💜
She’ll be gently easing herself back in, starting with a limited number of treatments, to ensure a smooth and comfortable return after such a long recovery period.
We’re so grateful for your continued support and can’t wait for you to see her again ✨

I am the founder and owner of Amethyst Therapies. I started the business in 2017 when I had my first treatment room in Stockton on Tees. I then moved back to Darlington.
I’m a qualified Beauty & Complementary Therapist, Aromatherapist, Reflexologist and Sienna X spray tanning therapist.
I have experience working in local salons, spas, hospice settings and also with the NHS. I work within the NHS at the Trinity Holistic Centre which is part of South Tees Foundation Trust in Middlesbrough as a Complementary Therapist Practitioner. Working with patients within our lovely centre or on the wards at James Cook University Hospital. I currently volunteer once a month for Look Good Feel Better which is a make up session which is held at the Trinity Holistic Centre and also once a week at Butterwick Hospice in Stockton with palliative patients.
I took the big step to go self employed along side my other commitments in 2017. With being qualified in both beauty and complementary therapies I carried out many treatments but in September 2018 I made the decision to focus more on massage & facial treatments.
August 2019 me and my mum Kathryn Boyle decided to join together. We had dreamt about this for many years. Kathryn is a registered nurse working also at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. She has worked here for many years (38+). She has recently semi retired and is still working within the NHS along side her complementary therapy appointments. She is qualified in Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Massage. She is looking forward to completing facial training this year.
Along with Kathryn joining the business we has recently signed for a new treatment room in Darlington. Which will be Amethyst Therapies main base. And the decision to bring back some favourite treatments such as nails and waxing due to high demand and requests.
