Youthwatch Darlington It’s our mission to ensure that young people have a voice when it comes to health & social care in the town.

Youthwatch Darlington is a health & social care volunteering programme - providing young people with real opportunities use their voice and to make a difference to health & care in the Borough of Darlington. We create opportunities for young people to work with service providers and commissioners to develop and improve services now and in the future. Our Annual General Meeting is just 2 weeks away! You're invited to join us in the Stephenson Suite in the Dolphin Centre from 12pm on Wednesday 24th September.

As a light lunch will be provided, for catering purposes we ask that you please contact us by Monday 15 September and book your place to ensure we cater for all dietary needs.

We're delighted to announce the next Darlington Organisations Together meeting is taking place on Thursday 2 October and your community organisation is invited!

Come along to the Stephenson Suite in the Dolphin Centre, 10am till 12pm - you'll meet other community organisations, and you'll be able to find out about what's coming up in and around Darlington!

The guest speakers at this meeting will be:

You can get a free flu vaccine if you are:

✅pregnant
✅ aged 2 or 3 years (on 31 August 2025)
✅ in primary school (Reception to Year 6)
✅in secondary school (Year 7 to Year 11)
✅aged 6 months to 18 years and in clinical risk groups

Additional free flu vaccinations from 1 October for:
- anyone aged 65 years and over
- people 18–64 in clinical risk groups
- long-stay care home
- residents & staff
- carers
- close contacts of someone at high clinical risk
- frontline health & social care workers

Parents and carers are being remined that 'it's never too late to catch up' and urged to ensure their children have both doses of the MMR vaccine to avoid the 'real risk' of a measles outbreak.

From 1 January 2026, changes to the MMR vaccination programme will mean that children born on or after 1 July 2024 will receive their second dose at 18 months of age, while those born on or before 30 June 2024 will continue to have their second dose at 3 years 4 months.
