The first of our 2 day case joint replacements off home today.

Another good result for Tees Valley, showing why we have the shortest length of stay of any hospital in the Ramsay group and the 4th shortest of any hospital in England and Wales!

Well done to all the team as always for all of your hard work in getting our patients back to the comfort of their own home so soon after their operation!

Last day with the mako robot this year before it has a well deserved rest over the Christmas and new year period. And a lovely Christmas dinner at woodlands followed by delicious home made ice cream and Christmas cake thanks to Anna from Stryker!

A busy but rewarding day with the mako robot today.

Mako is the leading robotic system in the world for hip and knee replacements and I have been proud to pioneer its introduction in the north east of England. Great results with it today and hopefully lots of happy patients as a result !

After yesterdays success, the team today didn’t want to be outdone, so here we are again with another happy day case hip replacement patient off home!

2nd day of 3 busy days in a row operating at tees valley hospital, so its rewarding to see 2 of our hip and knee replacement patients going home the same day as their operation!

Our day case pathway is a real flagship in the Ramsay group, and well done to all the hard working team at Tees for making this happen, and for the care they give to all of our patients

Great day with the Tees Valley Hospital team at the riverside. Amazing to see Tees Valley Hospital sponsoring the game and good to spend time with the tees family! And with Boro legend Craig Hignett! Fantastic day had by all and an amazing result. UTB!

5 years ago and we had just completed our 100th mako patient….. now I am close to 1000!

Mako is still going from strength to strength, with another 5 of my patients benefiting from this world leading robotic system today, with the accuracy of mako hitting the target every time 🎯

A quick trip across the North Sea to wonderful Amsterdam to be part of a great faculty teaching and certifying UK and European surgeons on the Mako Robot. As well as passing on my tips and tricks, it’s always a learning experience for me too.

It’s very exciting to see and hear about future mako developments and to hopefully roll those out to benefit people across the tees valley and beyond in the next year!
