It's been a busy weekend at Atisha KMC! 😍 On Saturday we had our 'Dealing With Difficult People' half-day course - and not a difficult person was seen all day! 😂

Gen Chogma helped us to explore where our fear of conflict is coming from and give many simple methods to change our view of 'difficult people' so that we can instead come to love and cherish them; healing our mind from the mental pain of anger and resentment. The second session was quite interactive with lots of engaged discussion and practical questions. It was a very meaningful course - thank you to everyone who came along! 💙

A few of the Atisha Centre community participated in today's Darlington Walk For Peace, visiting various places of worship around the town and sharing hope for peace in our world and in our hearts. It was a joyful day with new connections made and inspiring words shared.

When everyone visited Atisha KMC, Gen Chogma led a beautiful meditation imagining our wishing love took the form of radiant light that radiated out and transformed the minds of all living beings - pacifying all negativity and replacing them with peace, love and the wish to benefit one another. If everyone cherished each other we would have world peace. 🥰 Gen Chogma encouraged us to never give up our hope for peace and to show through our example that peace is possible. 🙏

NEW CLASSES START NEXT WEEK

The Four Immeasurables are a traditional Buddhist practice or prayer that helps us view the world with love, compassion, joy, and equanimity. By cultivating these attitudes, we can experience greater inner peace and more harmonious relationships.

Contemplating and meditating on these four beautiful lines, the ‘four immeasurables’, will very likely make for a happy festive season and a positive note to end the year on. 😊

Join us for four special classes. Attend any class, any week.

BRING A FRIEND FOR FREE! Book one place and then email us to let us know you'll be bringing a friend - or a difficult person, you choose! 😂

Dealing With Difficult People: Sat 22nd Nov, 10am-1pm
with Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Chogma
This course is suitable for everyone and is ideal preparation for a harmonious and enjoyable Christmas!

In situations of conflict, we can often become frustrated and angry. We even think anger will help us ‘win’ our battles, and we rely on it as if it were our trusted friend. The mind of anger, however, leaves a trail of broken relationships, lost opportunities, and painful feelings in its wake.

In this course, we will learn skillful techniques to remain balanced, flexible and peaceful in the midst of difficult situations and conflicts, thereby overcoming our real enemy, the painful mind of anger itself. Please join us for a day of learning about the cool, spacious mind of patience, the direct opponent to the mind of anger.
Cost: £15 (Free and Live-streamed for Monthly Members)

Dealing With Difficult People - Sat 22nd Nov, 10am-1pm
Why do conflicts arise? Why do we find conflict so difficult to deal with? — and how can we respond wisely?

Whether in our personal relationships, at work, or in the wider world, conflict is an unavoidable part of life; but it doesn’t have to lead to anger, resentment, or division.

In this half-day course, Gen Chogma will share how Buddhist teachings offer a fresh and transformative approach to dealing with conflict — both within ourselves and with others. Through meditation and practical insights, learn how to stay calm, communicate with clarity, and respond with compassion rather than react with hostility.

Discover how inner peace leads to outer harmony.

* Learn practical meditation techniques to stay calm during conflict
* Understand how mindfulness helps shift from reactive emotions to thoughtful responses
* Cultivate compassion and clear communication to transform difficult interactions
