I feel incredibly honoured to offer Reiki sessions within some of my local care homes.

These sessions are gentle and calming, supporting relaxation, emotional wellbeing and a sense of comfort. Many residents leave feeling more settled, at ease and deeply relaxed. And it’s such a privilege to witness those quiet moments of calm.

Reiki is especially suited to care home environments as it’s non-invasive, can be done seated or resting comfortably and is adapted to meet residents exactly where they are.

I am a full member of the UK Reiki Federation and am fully insured, ensuring sessions are delivered to highest professional standards.

Reiki can be offered as one to one sessions or in a small group session of up to four residents, allowing each person to receive gentle, individualised support in a safe and caring environment.

The Science Behind Reiki — What We Do Know

Reiki is classed as a biofield therapy, working with the body’s natural energy systems.
While science can’t yet directly measure life force energy, the effects of Reiki on the nervous system and wellbeing have been studied.

What research shows:

Reiki activates the parasympathetic nervous system — your body’s rest & heal mode — helping you shift out of stress and into balance.

Studies show Reiki can:
• Lower heart rate
• Reduce blood pressure
• Decrease cortisol (stress hormone)
• Improve heart rate variability (HRV)

Clinical trials and hospital studies have shown Reiki can significantly reduce:
• Chronic pain
• Anxiety
• Fatigue
• Depression symptoms

These effects appear even in people who don’t believe in Reiki, and in animals, infants, and unconscious patients — suggesting the results go beyond placebo.

Emerging research into the body’s electromagnetic and cellular communication systems is beginning to explain how subtle energy therapies may support the body’s natural regulation.

The bottom line:
Reiki is a clinically observed relaxation and regulation therapy that calms the nervous system, reduces pain and stress, improves emotional wellbeing, and supports the body’s natural healing processes.

How to handle stressful family dynamics during festive period

Family gatherings can bring love, laughter ……. and sometimes old patterns, triggers and tension.

If family dynamics feel heavy, here are a few gentle reminders:

🤍 You don’t have to engage in every conversation … Silence and stepping away are powerful boundaries.

🤍 Pause before reacting …A slow breath can stop you being pulled into old roles.

🤍 You’re allowed to say no … No explanations needed. Protecting your peace is enough.

🤍 Not everything needs fixing … You can love people without carrying their emotions.

🤍 Ground yourself often … Feel your feet, breathe deeply, come back to you.

This season is about connection — but not at the cost of your wellbeing.

Christmas can be magical…
but it can also be loud, emotional, busy and draining.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, here are a few gentle ways to protect your energy over the festive season:

✨ You don’t have to attend everything, do everything or be everything to everyone
✨ It’s okay to say no without explaining
✨ Take breaks — even 5 minutes of quiet helps
✨ Limit time with people who leave you feeling heavy
✨ Ground yourself before and after social situations
✨ Rest is productive — especially now

As we step into the cosy glow of the festive season, I’ll be taking a little break to rest, recharge and spend time with loved ones.

I will be closed from Saturday 20th December and reopening on Wednesday 7th January.

Before I switch off for Christmas, I just want to say a huge thank you to every single one of my clients this year — whether you’ve visited once or you come regularly. ✨ Why You Won’t Be “Fixed” in One Session ✨

I know it’s tempting to hope that one session will magically undo months — or even years — of stress, tension, and emotional strain.

But your body doesn’t work that way… and that’s actually a good thing.
