My name is Katy Vaioleti and I am a Wellness Practitioner of over 15 years of experience. I help clients with all aspects of their health; structural, chemical and emotional. As we all know, health is much more than the lack of a diagnosable disease by a GP. Often times blood tests and scan results come back as ‘normal’ but we just know something is not quite right. Things can take a long time to
shift enough away from your 'normal' to be recognised as a disease or syndrome. The aim of wellness care is to identify what is out of balance and try to bring things back to your normal before the onset of a dis-ease. It focusses on prevention and getting your body running at its very best, performance-wise. Everyone is an individual with a unique genetic make up, constitution and life history. Rather than focussing on you falling 'within normal ranges' for the entire population, the aim is to help you establish homeostasis that is normal for your individual make up. The cause of many diseases can be reduced into three categories: chemical, physical and emotional stress; and often is a build up of all three that finally tips the balance. Chemical stress may be in the form of nutritional deficiencies, sensitivities/allergies, toxicity, or hormonal imbalance. Physical stresses include trauma, repetitive strain, poor posture, lifting, vibration, and even x-ray. Emotional stress is well documented in its ability to cause disease. But with 80% of thought processing being sub-conscious, we don't always know that we are stressed or indeed what it is about. Often times, the stress displays as physical symptoms for example as acid indigestion, or pain/stiffness in a joint. I hold both a BSc and MSc in alternative health practices, and pride myself in having taken part in numerous courses each year since I began practicing in 2000. My wide scope of studies have armed me with the skills to identify chemical, physical and emotional stresses and to help release these burdens from your body and your experience of life. To identify chemical stresses, I use the Asyra Pro which is a bio-resonance testing system. Its a sophisticated machine which electronically tests your body's response to hundreds of stimuli: nutrients, foods, chemical toxins, parasites, bacteria, viruses, fungi, hormones, neurotransmitters and many more. It is an electronic form of kinesiology. The results can indicate where there is a deficiency, food sensitivity, hormonal imbalance or a sources of toxins that are affecting the body negatively. From the results I can make lifestyle suggestions and will often give an energetic remedy from the results (akin to a homeopathic dose) in order to provide the information back to the body about how to regain balance. To address structural stress in the body which may, or may not, be giving you symptoms of pain, restricted movement or inflammation; I use Barral Visceral Manipulation (VM) and Craniosacral Therapy. After his development of VM, Barral was named one of Time Magazine’s ‘top six innovators for alternative medicine to watch in the new millennium’. This delicate manual therapy is often cited as a missing link in the treatment of recurring musculoskeletal pain, postural distortions and biochemical dysfunction. Barral’s VM allows me to identify and release tensions in all of the body’s tissues. Many hands on therapies just focus on the muscles and joints. If this fails to bring results, or the relief is short lived, we need to look elsewhere. The body is comprised of muscles, joints, organs, nerves, blood vessels and fascia connecting them altogether. In the body's hierarchy of needs, the musculoskeletal system is fairy low down in comparison to the organs, nerves and blood supply. We can survive without an arm or a leg but never without heart, liver, lungs and the nerves and blood vessels which supply them. All of these structures hang via fascia from the muscles and joints and it is the hard frame’s job to protect them and to loco-mote, or move, them around. If there is a tension in an organ, nerve or blood vessel, there will therefore also be a tension in the musculoskeletal system. This happens via their attachments to the hard frame by fascia, but also by the brains clever risk management. For example, a right sided frozen shoulder can often result from a tension around the ligaments of, or congestion of the liver. When we reach up to the top shelf for a box, we stretch the right side of the body (where the liver largely sits). If this puts the liver at any risk of strain or pressure of its delicate tissues, the brain will simply tell the muscles of the right shoulder to tighten to prevent this movement, and bingo! you are unable to lift the arm. Its the body's genius self preservation in action. Several common therapies work on the shoulder and its muscles, and in this example they will either give no relief or the relief will be short lived and the pattern of restriction will return rapidly. If however, we release the tensions around the liver, often the client is amazed that pretty instantly they can move the arm over-head again. It is all a matter of being able to identify the route cause - no matter which tissue it is in - and not merely focussing on where the symptoms have ended up at the end of the domino line of tension and protection. Lastly, emotional stress and tension is held within the body. Certain organs commonly store particular emotions; the liver stores anger and the kidneys hold anxiety and fear, for example, but the stress can also sit in a joint too. Barral thermodiagnosis allows us to identify in which tissue of your body you have chosen to store that fear, worry or shock in, and then to be able to release it through hands on therapy without having to recall the memory or fear or re-live or talk through it. The Asyra Pro also allows me to test for an energetic remedy, such as a Bach Flower remedy which will help to further release the emotion being held. Lastly I am trained in Psych-K and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT tapping) which can be used to release trauma from the body and also to 'upload' new beliefs into the subconscious, so that your personal, social, business, fitness or health related goals can be reached. I am passionate about empowering you about your health and helping you to learn how to get the best out of your body. Throughout treatment I explain what I am doing in great detail and make suggestions for the positive lifestyle changes which will benefit your body most. Over the years, I’ve developed a comprehensive system of treatment that addresses all aspects of your wellness. As you can see, the techniques I use are able to address all of the different tissues of the body and all of the common stresses with can ail them. The results as with any therapy may vary depending on the severity, length of time which it’s been there and how multifactorial your issue is. However most clients see significant improvements within 4-6 sessions, and many earlier than that. If you are not getting the results you wish for why not try a new approach?
