LET'S CELEBRATE
We are absolutely delighted to share that we have secured funding from Gestamp Newton Aycliffe, via Point North , to support our Newton Aycliffe Silver Members Group for the next three months.

This group is a vital lifeline for many women over 60 who may be experiencing social isolation, bereavement, living with illness, or caring for a loved one. It provides a safe, welcoming space where friendships are formed, support is shared, and a real sense of community is built.

We are incredibly grateful for this support, which allows us to continue bringing these wonderful ladies together. We know how much this group means to those who attend, and we’re sure they will be just as thankful.

Thank you for helping us keep this important community going 💜

Silvers Shrinky Crafts
Hayley from has conjured up this months lovely session for our silver ladies at groups.
Shrinky D***s are a classic arts-and-crafts activity consisting of special thin, flexible sheets of polystyrene plastic that shrink to approximately one-third of their original size and become nine times thicker when heated in an oven. This month most of our groups did this session with some lovely end results that were made into a keychain or jewellery item.

Pattern and Paint
We've had Betty from Betty's Interiors with us the last few weeks at various groups to tutor our ladies and help them create these lovely wooden tealight candle holders.
Members and guests decorated a wooden tealight holder made from chunky offcuts of Mr Betty’s handmade furniture—each one full of character and completely unique.
We first fell in love with these beautiful wooden blocks at the Festival of Thrift, so we’re delighted that Betty’s Interiors have agreed to bring them to our groups and have more session's coming soon at-

Paper crafts that are easy on the mind
We've had Hayley back with us from this month and with her comes reels and reels of colourful paper and an abundance of quilling tools to set ladies off with this therapeutic craft.
Quilling can be enjoyed with friends, family or solo while watching tv and with some wonderful end results once you know the basics it's a lovely craft to try.

Pottery workshop
Fay from FJ Pottery joined us this week with husband Joe for a wonderful pottery workshop.

Moulding, attaching, smoothing and swirling clay to create some cute critters.
Using air dry clay which makes it amazingly easy to use and dry ready for painting and glazing.
We had sheep, cows, a monkey and even a whale 🐳
Thanks to Fay for all her talented tutoring. ❤️

Flavours and Family business!
We had the lovely Gee, Rani and Aaron from The Little Indian join us at Yarm group last week and one thing we can all agree on is that not only do they cook the most amazing food, making it simple to learn and do at home, they also ignite everyone's senses, including the sense of humour. The perfect comedy trio, for a fun and flavourful evening!
Our Indian cookery workshops are making the rounds again as this has been requested as a return by so many, this time it's starters. Demonstrations for Pakoras and Samosas, with tasting after of course!!😛

Workshop Spotlight
A little extra information this evening on our New Punch Needling workshops.
We've launched these for our spring and summer sessions, after requests to try this workshop for some time.
Needle punch or punch needle embroidery is a craft technique that uses a pen like tool or "punch needle" to create embroidered patterns and images with wool, ribbon or yarn. You can make some lovely shapes, patterns and textures with this craft and hoop settings finish it well, so it can displayed or gifted easily.

Our FREE, yes Free!! Fully funded men's group meets again soon and we have spaces for any gent over 40+ who'd like to join us to enrich their lives and social circle.

With Local textiles artist Gillian Arnold will be popping along to teach you a technique called anodising, working with metals and chemicals to create a pattern on a lovely bangle/cuff.

Weekend workshops at Rise & Bloom
We still have some spaces to join Memoreaz this coming weekend for one of two resin workshops.
🌸Easter Resin Eggs- Sat 21st March 2-4pm £25pp at Bloom Cottage, Hurworth.
Aimed at Kids this workshop is to make a fun lasting memento for Easter.
Each child can make between 2-4 eggs in the time, and we will also give them a little chocolate egg to take home! Children must be accompanied by an adult, but one adult can bring 2-3 children. All ages are welcome (5+ , supervising adult free).

🌊Resin Seascape Tray-Sun 22nd March 2-4pm £45pp
Create your own beautiful resin chopping board/tray in this hands-on creative workshop. Using a seascape technique demonstrated by Memoreaz tutor Chris, you’ll learn how to pour and shape resin to achieve flowing, ocean-inspired effects like the piece shown. Alternatively, you’re welcome to bring photographs, concert tickets, or other flat mementos to embed into a resin base, creating a truly personal design.
