🌞New Sessions-Spring/Summer🌞
Following on from yesterday's post, were thrilled to announce another new sessions coming to groups this Spring/Summer.
🎨Pop Art⭐

We’re delighted to welcome our new tutor, Michelle, to the team!
Michelle will be delivering exciting Pop Art painting sessions, where you’ll create your own bold and vibrant masterpiece inspired by the iconic style of Andy Warhol.

Using a choice of templates, you’ll explore colour, repetition, and graphic impact to produce a striking Pop Art artwork you can be proud of. This style of painting is hugely on trend right now, with artists like Banksy bringing powerful, pop-inspired imagery to our city streets.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced painter, these sessions are a fun, creative way to experiment with a contemporary art style and let your imagination shine.

☀️Spring and Summer Sessions☀️
We are finally in a position to announce what's coming to groups over the next 6 months and we are excited to share it all with you.
Over the next few days we will drop in and introduce sessions and tutors to you and give you a taste of what to expect. Donna and Charlotte will also be popping into each locations facebook group to tell you what's coming to your local group. 👉First up we have some popular, familiar faces. Returning to us this year will be Gee and Rani from The Little Indian . This lovely husband and wife duo will be demonstrating how to cook a selection of indian starters from scratch and they have assured us it's easier than you might think. so if you're looking for ways to impress visitors or add some "spice" back into your life, then this is a great reason to join us this year.
🕺To round off the session we're also hoping Gee will lead some Bhangra dancing, which is great fun to join in with or simply enjoy watching.
A lively, flavour filled session not to be missed.

Drawing Form
We had Brian over at Sedgefield last night for another popular Life Drawing session, With some wonderful sketches created.
Brian has hosted classes for some time now and encourages those attending to find their own styles but also guides and suggest ways to improve. These sessions work well as a way of dipping your toe into the world of life drawing and after a brief introduction, a few pointers and selecting different media (pencils, charcoal, crayons and pens) Brian set's you off with a few "one song" poses.
This may sound like a crazy way to get a lot down on paper but it makes you think quick and not over analyze. This then moves onto some "two song" poses and then a "three song" pose meaning more details can be achieved.
We then circle back to a final "one song" pose which is a wonderful way of comparing that first sketch and seeing the progress you've made.

Amazing Silvers
Our lovely over 60's "Silver's" groups have been getting floral with these big paper blooms this month and it's been such a bright, vibrant session for them all.
Funded by Point North and The National Lottery Community Fund our FREE silver's groups have been essential for ladies joining us to keep social and active in their local communities and we've been hearing some heartwarming stories about friendships being formed.

For ladies over 60+ who are bereaved or lonely and want to get out more, try new things and meet new people.

🎨 LIFE DRAWING ADVENTURE! 🎨

Our ladies’ craft group at Northallerton last week nailed their life drawing session! 💪 Using pencils, charcoal, and pastels, they brought our model to life on paper 😍.

Why life drawing?

- Boosts creativity and observation skills 👀
- Develops fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination 💪
- Encourages self-expression and confidence 🎨
- Fosters community and shared learning 🤝

Share your new hobbies!
We would love this evening for everyone to share something new they are working on in 2026. Did you get a craft kit for christmas, learn a new skill in 2025 that you've honed in and are particularly proud of or maybe you've cooked, baked, decorated or tinkered with something else that's not craft based but that you'd like to still claim success for?
Please use this post as your opportunity to share images and explanations and let's like, comment and boost others too. Sharing is caring and let's be honest it's also great to flood the feeds with some positivity this dreary January.
Donna has taken up a new art with these paint by numbers kits that Charlotte got her for Christmas. She does feel a little watched and judged when doing them mind.

🌸NEW VENUE-ADHD SEMINAR🧠

We posted about the next FREE seminar with last week and the response has been amazing. So much so we've had to move to a bigger venue to accommodate you all and get those on the waiting list into this amazing session.

This seminar will now be at Blackwell Meadows, Darlington 22nd January 7-9pm with parking and easy access.

🐾 OLD DOGS, NEW TRICKS 🐾

Our brand new men’s group is officially up and running and we can now offer it to all men aged 40+ due to feedback we have received.

We kicked things off last month by rolling up our sleeves and learning how to make an authentic Indian curry with the brilliant The Little Indian 🌶️🍛
Great food, great company, and plenty of laughs — the perfect start.

And we’re not slowing down…

🍫 THIS MONTH: it’s time to get even more hands-on as we dive into making caramel-filled chocolates by hand 🤎
We’ll be testing your decorating skills too, in this fun and relaxed workshop with the lovely Jen the Cookie Fairy ✨
