As promised, we have contacted all the incredible charities we’ll be donating to, and we can’t wait to tell you more about them! Throughout the week we’ll be sharing a little bit more about each charity, their mission and how support from the community enables them to carry on with the amazing work they do!
So, let’s start with Together21
Togehter21, a unique charity that support local children and young people (0-18years) with Down Syndrome and extend that support to their families too. They offer this support through fun learning activities tailored to specific needs of each person.
Here is what the lovely Joanne had to say when we contacted her to let her know that Together21 had been selected:
“At Together 21 we know that, with the right support at the right time, all of our children are capable learners able to achieve success and play an active and meaningful role in their families and communities. Such work relies on experienced staff and trained volunteers who work hand in hand with our families and these costs are very rarely able to be covered by grants and other support fund proposals we can access. Therefore, fundraising, donations and bequests are a vital part in helping us continue to fund this service, especially as we aim as much as possible to provide this service with as minimum cost as possible to the families who themselves are already under a lot of pressure including financial.”

Together 21 is a support group for the families and children with Downs Syndrome. The group supports infacts through to teen years and helps to strengthen all kinds of learning, which supporting the parents / carers.
