Today is World Cancer Day.

Many of us will have either had cancer or know someone who has had cancer. We will have experienced, first hand, the impact this has. Our thoughts are with those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

As a practice, we would like to promote the importance of early diagnosis. Please participate in the cancer screening programmes that are available on the NHS. Dr Saad and Dr Taylor are working with Dartford and Gravesham Trust on a lung cancer screening programme, that should be launching in the Spring.

We encourage you to be aware of any changes in your body that could be a sign of cancer. Dr Taylor’s article below outlines some of the things you should look out for.

We know patients feel it is a struggle to get appointments, but we are struggling with the demand too.

Please try 111 online or your local pharmacy for advice on self care and how to manage your symptoms.

Please help us to help you by giving as much information as you can on the online consultation form when you are requesting an appointment. This helps us to get you the help you need.

Please be kind to our receptionists. They are doing their very best to help you.

Just a reminder: the surgery car park will be closed and locked from 6.30pm Friday until Monday morning every weekend between now and 22 March.

Please share with anyone who is not a patient and parks in there when the surgery is closed. They may find themselves car-less for the weekend…

***CAR PARK CLOSURE***

We are having work done to the car park at weekends, between now and 22 March, and the car park will be closed at weekends.

The property owners will lock the car park each Friday evening, once the surgery closes.

***Any vehicles left in the car park will be towed***

The car park will reopen on Monday mornings. A safe path for pedestrians will be available when we are running weekend clinics, but you will not be able to park at the surgery.
