We're launching a chickenpox vaccination programme which will protect around half a million children each year.

From January 2026, eligible children will get an MMRV vaccine to protect against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox.

Eligibility will be announced in due course.

From this morning, we have switched to a new system for online consultations. All requests for GP-type appointments will continue to go through this system. You can call the practice to book blood tests and nurse appointments.

We ask that you complete an anima request if you are able to. This frees up the telephone lines for our receptionists to help those that cannot complete an online form. Thank you.

Anima is not currently available via the NHS App. Please click on the link on our website. https://www.thewellcomepractice.nhs.uk

Online consultations are available from 8am - 6.30pm, Monday - Friday (except bank holidays). If you submit a form before 5pm, it will be seen by a doctor that day. You may not receive a response for a couple of days. If the doctor considers that it is urgent for that day, we will call you for an appointment or redirect you to another service if we are at capacity.

Returning your home kit reduces your chances of getting seriously ill from bowel cancer.

So if you receive a kit in the post, put it by the loo. Don’t put it off.
