Four small windows in the day, four chances to come home to yourself.

Our nervous systems thrive on rhythm. This doesn’t have to be rigid schedules or perfect routines – in fact, it’s great if you can learn to feel your needs in the moment and how to respond to them, which might end up changing a little every day. This is the art of somatic awareness and interoception, which we teach in Primal Trust. But to give you a starting point, here’s a full day of mini routines to try:

☀️A little sunlight, breathwork and somatic orienting in the morning
🧘Gentle movement, vagus nerve support, and emotional check in at midday
☺️Putting down your phone, legs up the wall, and a body scan in the evening
🛌 Deep pressure, soft sounds, and the invitation to sleep at night

These are small practices with cumulative power. Each one sends the same message to your body – you are safe, you can rest, you can come back to yourself.

Save this for the days when everything feels like too much. Your nervous system is always listening.

It’s not always easy to see meaning when you’re in the middle of something painful or confusing. In those moments, it can feel random, even unfair. But with time, patterns start to reveal themselves — lessons, redirections, quiet shifts that move you somewhere you couldn’t have planned.

Not everything will make sense immediately, and not everything needs to. Sometimes it’s less about why it happened and more about who you become because of it.

Trust that even the detours are shaping you.
Some paths only make sense when you look back and realise they were guiding you all along.🧘‍♂️🦋

Wanting more for your life is one thing — aligning your actions with it is another.

Growth often asks for uncomfortable trade-offs. The habits, comforts, and patterns that once felt normal can quietly keep you in the same place. You can’t step into a bigger life while holding on to smaller behaviours that no longer match who you’re becoming.

Elevation is less about wishing, more about choosing — daily, consistently, and sometimes painfully.
At some point, you have to decide if you’re willing to do what is needed, in order to work towards the life you say you want.☯️🧘‍♂️

“Trauma is stored in the body” isn’t just a saying; it’s literal.
When the body never gets the signal that the threat is gone, survival mode become the new normal.
Ringing ears. Stomach problems. Cold hands and feet.
Those “weird,” seemingly random symptoms might just be chronically elevated stress hormones messing with sleep, digestion, immunity, focus, and more.
But here’s the thing: the body can learn safety again. A trauma-trained therapist can help retrain your nervous system to stand down, reconnect your mind and body, and rebuild a sense of safety that lasts.

There’s something quietly satisfying about seeing research catch up with what many of us therapists have already observed in practice.

For years, therapists using the Rewind Technique have seen how effective it can be with trauma. People who had been struggling with flashbacks for years sometimes shift far more quickly than expected.

But until recently, there hasn’t been much formal research to point to.

A 2023 study is beginning to change that.

It found that Rewind can be effective for PTSD, but what’s particularly interesting is how it was used.

Many therapists (myself included) only had two days of training; Weren’t trained in hypnosis, And all the sessions were delivered remotely.

And it still worked.

That’s worth pausing on for a moment.

Because if a technique produces results under those conditions, it suggests we may be seeing its baseline effectiveness, not its full potential.

The study also raises some important questions for those of us working with trauma.

Many established approaches, such as CBT-TF and EMDR, are effective, but often require 12 to 20 sessions.

In this trial, Rewind achieved a comparable effect size in just one to three sessions.

For services under pressure, that difference matters.

There’s another point that often gets less attention.

Some clients simply don’t want to describe their trauma in detail. For them, having to put the experience into words can feel overwhelming, or even re-traumatising.

Rewind doesn’t require that.

Clients can process the experience without needing to disclose the details, which for some people makes therapy feel possible for the first time.

The research is still developing.

But it’s encouraging to see evidence beginning to reflect what many practitioners such as myself have already noticed.

In my experience, I have found that some clients benefit from approaches that don’t require detailed trauma disclosure.

Just because it feels true… doesn’t make it true.

Anxiety and OCD are really good at telling convincing stories.

“I can’t handle this.”
“This means something is wrong with me.”
“I need to fix this right now.”

And your body believes it.
Your emotions back it up.
It feels urgent and real.

But feelings & thoughts are not facts.

There is a difference between:
👉 what your mind is saying
👉 and what is actually happening

“I’m a terrible person” → “I had an intrusive thought”
“I can’t handle this” → “I’m feeling overwhelmed right now”

That shift changes everything.

Not because it makes anxiety disappear…
but because it brings you back to reality, where you have choices.

Be so rooted in yourself…
that nobody can use you.

Not because you’ve become cold.
Not because you’ve stopped caring.
But because you’ve stopped abandoning yourself to keep others comfortable.

People don’t just use “weak” people.
They use kind people who haven’t learned boundaries yet.
They use giving people who feel guilty saying no.
They use strong people who were taught their worth comes from being needed.

So the goal isn’t to become useless.
It’s to become unavailable for manipulation.

There’s a difference.

You can still be kind… without being taken for granted.
You can still love deeply… without losing yourself.
You can still help others… without becoming their solution.

The moment you know your value:
• You stop over-explaining
• You stop proving your worth
• You stop tolerating disrespect disguised as “normal”

And suddenly, the same behavior that once drained you… no longer reaches you.

Because you’ve changed access.

Not everyone deserves your time.
Not everyone deserves your energy.
Not everyone deserves the version of you that gives without limits.

Read that again.

You’re not here to be endlessly available.
You’re here to be aligned.

And when you get there…
the people who only saw your usefulness will disappear.

The ones who truly see you?
They’ll stay.

Protect your energy like it matters.

Anxiety is already hard.

But what we add to it can make it heavier.

Judgment.
Self-criticism.
Telling yourself you shouldn’t feel this way.

Those layers don’t solve anxiety… they amplify it.

What tends to help more is something quieter:

Acceptance.
Softness.
Letting the feeling be there without attacking yourself for it.

You don’t have to pile on top of your anxiety. 💕⁠
