North Kent Mind is an independent mental health charity operating throughout Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and Medway. Our services include supported housing, low cost counselling, a range of wellbeing groups, employment support, NHS talking therapies, children and young persons service as well as training. We work closely with other local organisations, where this is the best way of achieving our aims, and are supported in our work by paid staff, trained volunteers, and student social workers. In North Kent Mind we are committed to continuously improve our services through quality review and services users feedback. We're running a 12-week depression support group in Medway!

This group offers a safe and welcoming environment to connect with others, explore how depression affects different areas of life, and develop practical tools to manage symptoms. Sessions run for two hours each week over twelve weeks.

You can self-refer through Live Well Kent & Medway by calling 0800 567 7699, or by visiting livewellkent.org.uk and completing the online referral form via the QR code.

North Kent Mind is seeking a dynamic, visionary, and compassionate Deputy CEO to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a pivotal role for someone passionate about mental health, service excellence, and strategic leadership.

As Deputy CEO, you will: Lead and inspire our service delivery teams across Adult Support Services, Children and Young Persons Services (CYP), and Counselling and Therapy. Deputise for the CEO, ensuring continuity and confidence in leadership. Champion safeguarding, acting as Head of Safeguarding for Adults and Children. Drive performance and innovation, embedding a culture of quality and responsiveness to local needs.

Collaborate strategically, working closely with the CEO and SLT to shape the future of North Kent Mind.

We’re seeking someone with: proven experience in strategic and operational leadership, a strong background in mental health services for adults and children, excellent mentoring, coaching, and communication skills, a commitment to staff wellbeing, inclusion, and empowerment, experience in safeguarding leadership and working within the VCSE sector, a relevant management or leadership qualification.

We’re looking for a qualified and motivated Children & Young Persons (CYP) Therapist to join our friendly and passionate CYP team at North Kent Mind.

You will deliver flexible, short-term therapy (6–12 sessions) to children and young people aged 5–18 (and up to 25 for those with additional needs or care leavers), using skills-based approaches including CBT, DBT-informed practice and Creative Therapies. Sessions are a mix of 1:1 and group work, with delivery in community venues and our Medway base.

We provide:

• Regular clinical supervision and line management support
• Opportunities to shape and grow a service with impact
• A supportive charity environment with a strong mission to improve mental health and wellbeing across our communities

If you are a qualified therapist (counsellor, CBT therapist, creative arts therapist, play therapist etc.) with experience working with children and young people, we’d love to hear from you.

We are holding immediate interviews, so early applications are encouraged!

At North Kent Mind, we provide support for anyone struggling with their mental health, as well as for families and communities impacted by su***de.

Here's how you can help:

Check in with friends, family, and colleagues, a simple conversation can make a big difference.

Let those affected know that you care about them and that they are not alone

Be non-judgemental and don’t criticise or blame them

Together, we can bring hope, show people they are not alone, and work towards a future where fewer lives are lost to su***de.
