Forest School of Biodynamics Rites of Passage Series
Menopause: Rite to Eldership
9 – 11 August 2024
Devon, UK

In the Forest School, we combine ancient shamanic tools and ceremonies with the hands on practice of BCST. The Flowering Tree Ceremony offers insights from the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of our being in attunement with the natural world around us, a snapshot of who we are and what we have to offer life in the past, present and future which can support our passage into a new phase of life.

Forest School of Biodynamics: Rite to Ancestorship
Death and dying process 20-22 September 2024

At their most basic, all rites of passage are characterized by three distinct phases: separation (leaving the familiar), transition (a time of testing, learning and growth), and return (incorporation and reintegration).
This 3 day post graduate course offers an exploration of the dying process, the final transition in a human life cycle. Table sessions will include immersion in the Long Tide, use of the voice and touch to connect and reassure, and an orientation to the dynamics of the Depths of Stillness. We’ll also look at ways to support the bereaved and take time to examine our own beliefs, attitudes and feelings about death. There will be opportunities for personal ceremony, including a forest medicine walk and a Fire ceremony to honour our lineages, allowing participants the space to address their personal history and arising process with the support of the environment.

Forest School of Biodynamics: Rite to Birth
Birth process 24-26 May 2024

At their most basic, all rites of passage are characterized by three distinct phases: separation (leaving the familiar), transition (a time of testing, learning and growth), and return (incorporation and reintegration). Participants will be offered a space for experiential exploration of this most formative of passages in terms of physical and psychoemotional imprinting, including table work, personal ceremony and a fire ceremony. The Forest School offers a uniquely supportive environment in which to meet personal history and arising process alongside the refinement of craniosacral skills to support others in addressing this most formative of creative processes.

Forest School of Biodynamics: Rites of Passage Series
New for 2024!

Rites of Passage are ceremonies that mark important transitional periods in a person's life and are linked to individual and community development.
At their most basic, all rites of passage are characterized by three distinct phases: separation (leaving the familiar), transition (a time of testing, learning and growth), and return (incorporation and reintegration).
Our 3 day seminars combine biodynamic craniosacral therapy with personal and group ceremonial processes in the elemental setting of the forest, creating a space for learning, growth and healing.

Forest School of Biodynamics: Trauma Unravelled
Parasympathetic protective responses 26-28 April 2024

Last call for this weekend in the woods, focusing on the parasympathetic protective responses of freeze and dissociation, which can be more challenging to recognise in their presentation than sympathetic states.
Over 3 full days together, we’ll learn to recognise parasympathetic states as they might be sensed in a cranial session, and learn verbal, relational and cranial skills and processes to support their resolution and integration. This essential trauma training provides a foundation in the field of trauma work, empowering participants to use a range of skills to recognise and meet traumatic imprints, from early developmental and birth trauma to issues of abuse and PTSD.

Some great tips here from the lovely Jane Shaw about self- regulation πŸ‘β€οΈ

Therapist Jane Shaw shares her personal journey of living with alopecia. Using a practice called Simple Listening, which she developed for her clients to restore nervous system regulation and more easeful living, Jane takes us through her story of reconnection to a deeper self, beyond the superficial. Jane Shaw marries neurobiology, Jungian psychology, and craniosacral therapy to support individuals to recover from and become resilient to adverse life experiences. Having spent many years in the world of business and finance, Jane has been immersed in the field of holistic health for twenty years, seamlessly blending neuroscience and new medicine with profound teachings from ancient healing arts. As a therapist, writer, and educator, she delivers training programmes and retreat experiences both in Ireland and internationally. Jane holds an M.A. in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and an M.A. in Jungian and Archetypal Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, always continuing to learn from both her academic studies and lived experience.

Forest School of Biodynamics: Trauma Unravelled Part 2
26-28 April 2024
Building on the material offered in Part 1, this seminar is focused on parasympathetic protective responses, which can be less obvious in their presentation in comparison with sympathetic states. In the supportive forest environment, we’ll learn to recognise these states as they might be sensed in a cranial session, and learn verbal, relational and cranial skills and processes to support their resolution and integration.
