Karaoke parties are the most fun!

Plenty of singing, tambourine shaking and even had a spot of dressing up fun!

We really do have some exceptional talent here at The Fleet and it's wonderful to encourage people to share their talents!

Our John and Paul are the new Robson & Jerome! 🥰🥰

Today's weather was kinda as we participated in today's Dartmouth Dawdle with many thanks to Fleet Volunteers Elaine, Gill & Margaret. Was lovely to welcome our HCA Jane alongside a relative Vicky! 🥰
We are truly blessed with a great network of support to make weekly outings like today possible.

This afternoon we had a fabulous debut performance from Luc Walpot.. he is affectionately known as Luc the Harpist and a real treat for the ears

Variety is important to us and we truly enjoy a wide selection of talented individuals from around South Devon. .

What a blast we have had over the last few days!

Drinks tasting - Always good to have a variety of options to enjoy especially during these periods of hot weather when hydration is vital for our ladies & gents.

Church service - Huge thanks to Diane, Marion & Nicolette who visit The Fleet roughly every 3 weeks. They give a service and Holy Communion for those who wish to express their faith.

Dartmouth Dawdle - Teaming up with Dartmouth Caring and venturing out into the community. Drinks and biscuits to end the walk in the Flavel

Fleet Voices Choir - Kim & Kitty hosted a singing group where over the last months we have been learning a variety of much loved sing a longs. Music & singing is certainly a mood booster

Pet Therapy - Bit cheeky to call it that really.. we simply all enjoyed some much needed cuddles with little Ravioli. At 9 weeks old he is a little darling. He got the memo for 'paws not claws' and was adored by all. Sadly no photo's and he was at times trying to be an escape artist..

Wonderful afternoon of music as we welcome back Joe Dostal

Lovely to see The Cove so full of people to enjoy Joe playing the guitar. Plenty of people tapping their hands and feet. Even a spot of chair dancing and some were brave enough to sing a long to a spot of 'I can't help falling in love with you'

As always the drinks were flowing and Catherine had just delivered a freshly made chocolate sponge for people to enjoy! Afternoons don't get much better!

Flower pressing with Kitty & Gareth.

Wonderful way to preserve some of the delightful flowers that we have growing in our gardens.

This activity was perfect for going around to individuals in their bedrooms meaning we can capture some quality time with people who might not be confident in group situations.

This afternoon was a right hoot with the one and only Zara King!

With the temperatures being warmer than average today we were extra vigilant with keeping our ladies and gents safe from the sun. Using shade, lots of sun cream, hats and of course really making an extra push with hydration.

During the hour session in the gardens we enjoyed cold drinks with ice cubes, ice lolly's and slices of watermelon.

Zara provides a fantastic hour of music with some real party tunes that we can all sing along with! Tambourines were in action as always giving that really lively and energetic atmosphere!

Perfect weather to welcome Fleet regular Patrick Jervis - Entertainer back to perform!

Patrick has been with The Fleet most months for around 3 years now, he truly is a roaring success with our ladies & gents who really enjoy his set lists and voice!

Little birdie tells me he already has tickets on sale for his 'Carols in the Caves' show already! Head over to the Kent's Cavern page for further details. An experience not to be missed!

Todays Knit & Natter continued with the chocolate theme and we had plates with a variety of delicious treats available for people.

More conversations continued about bars that were no longer produced. As a group we spoke about how the costs have changed drastically and the thought of a bar costing 3p was very amusing!

Today just happens to be World Chocolate Day and there is no other way to mark the day than to taste test a variety of chocolate products.

We printed off some images of retro chocolate bars and products from years gone by and enjoyed many interesting conversations about how the availability of the products has changed. Touched on rationing, the different flavours now used, the branding has developed over the years.

Most of the ladies said they enjoyed a simple plain dark chocolate and Head of MacBride Sarah simply admitted she would eat anything! I have to agree with her! YUM

What is your preference for chocolate?

This afternoon we decided to have a spot of karaoke around Ramsay Community!

Going around everyone's bedroom it was great to be involved with each individual singing a song of their preference. Some were confident enough to take the microphone and others were just content watching the activities team have a great time! Never mind the X Factor,, our purple ladies have the WOW factor!

Music is a perfect way to let loose and have a bit of fun. There were some good notes sung, mainly bad notes sung but it was all done with 100% enthusiasm.

What is your karaoke song of choice?
