🌎 Better for our bodies and the planet Ready to help us make a change?

Welcome to the Aruna Revolution: we make compostable menstrual pads that are better for our bodies and the planet. The innovation of sustainable menstrual pads is crucial for mitigating global climate change and ecological harm. We cannot stop using menstrual products, but we can replace them with an environmentally responsible option! KNOW YOUR STATS:

🗑 20 BILLION MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS can be kept

out of landfills each year in North America by switching to Aruna.
💨 50 MILLION TONNES OF CO2 emissions prevented annually with our compostable pads made from food and crop waste.
💸 25% OF CANADIAN MENSTRUATORS struggle with period product affordability—which we are committed to making more accessible.
⏳ 800 YEARS is how long it takes for disposable pads to decompose, compared to just 30 days for Aruna pads. Visit our website to learn more about how you or your organisation can join the menstrual health revolution! 🩸

Aruna’s Revolutionist of the Year:

On , our team proudly launches our first annual “Aruna Revolutionist of the Year” recognition, highlighting an extraordinary force for change in our community: Missy, who has been an essential part of Aruna Revolution’s growth and success!

As a beacon of kindness and generosity, Missy’s dedication as Executive Director of (PEAS) exemplifies the values we cherish. Her tireless work ethic and passionate advocacy have not only transformed PEAS from a 15-year personal mission into a groundbreaking nonprofit but have also inspired our entire team.

Through innovative initiatives like the Equal Flow Project, PEAS provides ‘dignity bags’ with menstrual products and undergarments in public spaces. With stark statistics showing that one-third of Canadian women and gender-diverse youth under 25 struggle to afford these essential products, Missy’s work is more crucial than ever.

Beyond PEAS, Missy’s impact extends to multiple spheres - she’s a business consultant empowering Black women, gender-diverse individuals, and youth entrepreneurs, and serves on numerous boards including the African Descent Advisory Council for HRM and FC IDEA Committee.

Her generous spirit and unwavering commitment to social justice have made her an invaluable mentor and collaborator. Her powerful message resonates: “It’s inconceivable that people still lack access to these basic necessities”. Through education, advocacy, and direct action, Missy is creating lasting change in our communities.

Today, we celebrate Missy as our inaugural Aruna Revolutionist of the Year, recognizing her not just as an entrepreneur and advocate, but as a cherished member of our Aruna Revolution community. Her work reminds us that true equality includes ensuring dignity and access for all, regardless of gender identity.

Normalizing menstruation is a crucial step toward gender equality.

These women remind us that breaking period stigma happens through visibility, honesty, and refusing to be silenced. Their actions challenge a world where:

🩸 Over 500 million women and girls globally lack adequate facilities for menstrual hygiene management, with 1 in 10 girls in Africa missing up to 20% of school days

🩸 48% of female athletes report that their period negatively impacts training and competition performance, with 51% having considered quitting sports due to menstruation

🩸 2 billion people live in water-stressed areas, making basic menstrual hygiene impossible, while in the US alone, 1 in 4 teens struggles to afford period products

This , let’s continue their work by talking openly about periods and fighting for menstrual equity worldwide.

Can you think of a woman who’s helped you or society tackle period stigma? Let us know in the comments!
