✨ Bansri Shah and her team at Eyelink Opticians are this month’s Independent in the Spotlight! ✨

We’re proud to celebrate Bansri and her dedicated team, who recently offered free eye care to people experiencing homelessness during a local festival.

Bansri Shah, Dispensing Optician and Practice Director at Eyelink Opticians, met many of those she helped at Street Fest, an annual event organised by Streets Kitchen to support people affected by homelessness.

During the one-day festival, Bansri and a colleague spoke to around 80 people, carried out vision checks, and distributed around 40 pairs of ready readers and frames.

Their kindness and dedication truly reflect the spirit of independent opticians, caring for their community, one patient at a time.

It’s World Sight Day! 👁️👓

Today our People Team handed out fruit boxes to promote healthy eyes, followed by plenty of fun with eye-themed games, sweet treats and goodies.

Colleagues shared brilliant photos of the things they’re most grateful to see on our digital photo wall, and we were joined by a local charity who spoke about their life-changing work, a cause we were proud to support through our fundraising.

Throughout the day, we also heard from familiar faces, including Nick Rumney, who shared what this day means to them, with their videos playing on the breakout room screen for everyone to enjoy.

All funds raised will go to the Blackburn and District Blind Society, a local charity providing vital support to people in our community who are partially sighted, blind, or living with additional disabilities.

Last week we had an amazing weekend at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham for our third annual SPA (Share, Progress, Achieve) event!

This year’s theme, Play to Progress, created the perfect mix of learning and fun, true edutainment. Interactive workshops, lively discussions and fresh strategies gave us practical ways to strengthen our practices while enjoying every moment. 🌟

It was fantastic to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new ones, and share the collaborative energy that makes SPA so special.
