Today I attended the funeral of one of my patients, my first patient I have had to say goodbye to in this way. A difficult thing.
The funeral was beautiful, outside amongst the long grass, birds singing and a dragonfly buzzing around – almost as if she was saying - “I see you, thank you for coming and, goodbye, until we meet again”. We threw rose petals onto the wicker coffin and said goodbyes in our own way.
She taught me a lot this lovely lady, how not to give up, to find answers where it was believed none existed and to find the happiness. She was a lady of immense determination, grit, courage and above all else, the joy of being.
So, what are you doing to bring joy to your life? I’m going to paint my garden fence pink. Yes, really, because, why not.
