Jayne Lewis Counselling I am an Integrative Counsellor who uses a range of techniques aimed at your individual needs. I am a I am also a Relax Kids coach and Meditation Teacher.

MY TRAINING
I believe life skills are as important as training in making us the person we are and feel mine have enhanced my ability to understand and support children, young people and adults in an empathetic and non-judgemental way. Before I trained as a Counsellor I also qualified as a Primary School Teacher, studied a Master's Degree in 'Integrated Services for Children and Families' and subsequently worked for Northamptonshire Council supporting and training childcare providers. MY EXPERIENCE
Because I have worked with the elderly and Children and Young People from birth to 25 years of age in a professional and voluntary capacity for over forty years, I can help you face the overwhelming challenges of daily life that may cause anxiety and/or depression. This can also be affected by past trauma, sometimes without us realising. More recently I have been working with 11- to 25-year-olds and it appears many of these pressures come from school, exams, peer pressure, and aspirations for the future. Not to mention the effect Covid 19 has had on their well-being. HOW I CAN HELP YOU
Over the years I have learnt so much about the importance of positive social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of children, young people and adults, and in particular how our physical and mental health affect each other. The thoughts, feelings and behaviours you are currently experiencing are the 'tip of the iceberg' and we will need to explore what is laying beneath the surface. I believe that relaxation is key to helping to relieve many of these pressures, and you might like to include some meditation or hypnotherapy to your treatment. We can discuss that during our sessions, should you wish to take up my service. Whatever route we take will be chosen by you - I am here to support you. HOW I WORK
I work from a private clinic in Daventry and also offer online counselling via Zoom. We will start with a free 15 minute initial discussion by telephone or online: please feel free to leave me a message and I will get back to you at a time that suits you. Our sessions will take place face-to-face either in person or online, as I believe it helps to build a rapport if we can see each other. Whatever you choose I offer an empathic, safe and non-judgmental environment that enables you to feel self-aware and empowered to make positive changes to your life. WORKSHOPS
I also facilitate online and face to face workshops in small groups of 4-8 people:
Meditation groups: Suitable for beginners or those who enjoy regular meditations. These can be online or face to face. Peer group support: To help young people with school and exam worries. Each group would be age appropriate and limited to 6 participants to allow each person to speak.

Why not try my workshops on Thursday 6th July or 3rd August 7.00 - 8.30 pm. At an introductory price of £10.00. We will be a small group of 6-8 people and focus on relaxation techniques and practice two short meditations. We aim to have fun and leave the workshop relaxed and refreshed – and with a resource pack to help you continue your meditations.

‘Switching off’ is often the thing people say they find difficult when meditating. Jayne is hosting workshops on Thursday 6th July and 3rd August 7.00 - 8.30 pm. Jayne will be hosting small groups of 6-8 people; focusing on relaxation techniques and practicing two short meditations during each evening. Jayne always makes attendees feel comfortable within the sessions – the aim is to have fun and leave the workshop feeling relaxed and refreshed. Everyone gets a resource pack to help them continue their meditations.

Meditation can be accessed anywhere and is often already part of our daily lives: at home, walking in nature, sitting by the beach or simply by just being in the present moment. By incorporating just a few minutes a day calmly acknowledging our thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations we may experience many physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits. These include:
boosting immunity
balancing emotions (that can aid sleep and food problems)
reducing stress and anxiety
promoting a positive self-image
increasing energy levels and help control pain
calming mind (and help us rationalise our thoughts)
reducing heart rate
age related memory loss
