We’re on a little weekend escape, and I couldn’t resist putting some sun-protective tints to the test. I brought along my brown and grey polarised lenses, plus a mirrored grey goggle, and for me, the grey polarised tint definitely comes out on top.
That said, I do love mirrored lenses. They offer extra protection in intense light thanks to their reflective coating, especially helpful when you’re surrounded by bright snow. Maui Jim also offers polarised, mirrored options, with and without prescription. Available in four base tints, grey, green, brown, pink. I have tried non polarised pink tinted lenses for skiing but didn't like the contrast at all.

A quick note on vision correction while skiing: as many of you know, I wear glasses pretty much all year round. But on the slopes, I really enjoy the freedom of going without them. No fogging, no hassle fitting goggles over frames, just a clearer, more comfortable experience.
Daily contact lenses are my go-to, but extended wear (day & night) lenses can be even more convenient as you won't need to take them in and out constantly. Just make sure to keep your eyes well lubricated when wearing these extended-wear contact lenses.
Another option is prescription goggles. They work well, but they can be less cost-effective, especially if your prescription changes. Since goggles aren’t something we wear year-round like sunglasses, contact lenses or prescription sunnies may be the more practical choice.
