A bit late putting this walk on , but we enjoyed another long walk along part of our route .
We were lucky to get a lift to Crick and walked the middle part of our route to Husbands Bosworth. We were greeted with a very steep hill right after the tunnel entrance which we are not looking forward to on the day as this will be 20 miles in 🤣.
Ended the walk with a cheeky drink at The bell inn.
Thank you to everyone that has donated so far 🩷🩷

Another enjoyable walk today in the ☀️, we picked up the canal next to the country park walked along to Whilton locks , then followed the canal all the way to Weedon. Quick stop at the Depot for a wee and a tea , then walked through the village along the Nene valley way along to Everdon , Newnham and back to Daventry.

Well for todays training walk we got out on the Nene way footpath and knightley way footpath
Starting off going over Newnham Hill and down through to Everdon to Fawsley. Quick visit to Fawsley church and back off to Badby.
Last leg back up Newnham hill.
A very muddy and hilly walk , but so nice to get out in the fresh air🌾🐑.

This year we have decided to take on a different adventure and walk from Daventry to Foxton locks in Leicestershire along the Grand union canal .
Starting from the Country park this 27 mile route will pass through lots of stunning countryside taking in the Watford staircase locks , Crick, Yelvertoft, Husbands Bosworth to mention a few. Foxton Locks is a Grade II listed site, and home to the longest, steepest staircase flight of locks in Britain. These locks have been an essential part of travel, trade and leisure for over 200 years.
So why are we doing this
will be raising money for Northampton General hospital’s oncology department and Gosset ward.
During the past year my family has been touched by Cancer yet again .
In October last year my Father- in -law received the news that he had prostrate Cancer and then just two weeks later my Mum was diagnosed with Kidney cancer. I am happy to say both are doing well due to the excellent care they are receiving.

For Anita Gosset Ward (a neonatal intensive care unit which cares for newborn babies )holds a special place in her heart as they have provided some much needed specialist care for two little ones in her family.

We really would appreciate any support you can give.
We will keep you updated throughout our practice walks along the way and hope together we can raise some much needed funds to support these two wonderful departments .

Thank you
Tammy and Anita
