This year we have decided to take on a different adventure and walk from Daventry to Foxton locks in Leicestershire along the Grand union canal .
Starting from the Country park this 27 mile route will pass through lots of stunning countryside taking in the Watford staircase locks , Crick, Yelvertoft, Husbands Bosworth to mention a few. Foxton Locks is a Grade II listed site, and home to the longest, steepest staircase flight of locks in Britain. These locks have been an essential part of travel, trade and leisure for over 200 years.
So why are we doing this
will be raising money for Northampton General hospital’s oncology department and Gosset ward.
During the past year my family has been touched by Cancer yet again .
In October last year my Father- in -law received the news that he had prostrate Cancer and then just two weeks later my Mum was diagnosed with Kidney cancer. I am happy to say both are doing well due to the excellent care they are receiving.
For Anita Gosset Ward (a neonatal intensive care unit which cares for newborn babies )holds a special place in her heart as they have provided some much needed specialist care for two little ones in her family.
We really would appreciate any support you can give.
We will keep you updated throughout our practice walks along the way and hope together we can raise some much needed funds to support these two wonderful departments .
Thank you
Tammy and Anita
