Arrived in Ukraine delivering vital rehabilitation equipment Dr Oleksandr Yatsyna and his wife Katia from the Mercy and Health Foundation.

This trip was not only about delivering rehabilitation equipment, but about delivering solidarity, compassion, and the message that we stand with Ukraine.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible with your donations on our Justgiving page.

Setting off today to Ukraine with Nick Milne driving our donated freezer van (thank you Bid Foods). 3-day journey to Kyiv where we will link up with Dr Oleksandr Yatsyna who runs The Mercy and Health Foundation. Then likely to be taking the van to Chernihiv or Sumy. We have the van full of wheelchairs, crutches and many other medical supplies.

In the coming year, Oleksandr is taking on the task of building a Rehabilitation Centre for Ukraine's wounded civilians and soldiers. Please note, that up to 1,000 men, women and children are being wounded each day.

If you would like the donate to the rehabilitation initiative, we would be so very grateful.

We’re busy training journalists and reporters this week on our Virtual General Safety Awareness Training Courses.

Our bespoke short training course is designed for individuals and teams working on assignments both the UK and overseas. Focussing on likely issues that may occur, ranging from crime avoidance and handling aggression within the UK, to deployment on overseas assignments where safety in taxis and hotels through to attitudes to the press may create a problem.

We’re looking forward to our courses moving to face to face as soon as we can do so safely.

If you’re interested in equipping your reporters and journalists with the tools and knowledge needed to fulfil their roles safely, then do get in touch.

We were delighted to deliver our half-day Virtual Travel Safety Training to our lovely clients at the Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR). A church based INGO focused on delivering neutral humanitarian/development programs. Requiring their annual travel safety training to be delivered online.

We understand the importance of ensuring that we adapt the contents of our course to meet client’s specific needs and to work with them to understand key training objectives and likely travel destinations.

We’re delighted to be working with the EBU Academy to deliver an online learning session: Lessons on Crisis Management a year after Covid-19. The virtual course takes place on 22 April 2021 and is available for EBU members..

The COVID-19 crisis forced us all to react quickly and in a matter of days we were rapidly changing our working practices. Since February 2020, broadcast networks have continued to adapt and crisis management has given way to business continuity. Now, it’s time to reflect, learn and consider what else might be on the horizon.

Will we be prepared for the next unscheduled event? Crisis management teams were in place, many had done detailed crisis planning but were they able to deliver what was needed, at the right time and the right place?

What lessons have we learned after one year of continuous crisis? Was the crisis management strategy efficient and what can we draw on for the future?

We’ll be discussing many important issues but also looking ahead to what might be just over the horizon and what can we learn from COVID-19 to help future strategic planning.
