Barton Surgery The Barton Surgery is the only GP practice in Dawlish and is situated next to Dawlish Community Hospital.

We have 14700 patients, mainly resident in Dawlish and Dawlish Warren, and the practice also looks after as many as 3,500 holiday makers per year.

🐣Easter in Devon is one of the busiest times of the year as thousands of visitors arrive to enjoy the county’s beaches, countryside and attractions.

The Easter bank holiday (Friday 3 – Monday 6 April) marks the start of the holiday season in Devon, when health services traditionally see an increase in demand. Visitors and local people are being encouraged to make the best use of NHS services – especially community pharmacies through the Pharmacy First service.

The Surgery will be closed on Friday the 3rd of April and Monday the 6th of April for the Easter bank holiday.

If you require urgent medical attention, please ring 111 or contact 999 In an emergency.

The last day for processing prescriptions before the Easter break is Friday the 27th of March.

We are updating to let you know about an upcoming change within our clinical team.

Dr Sam Crocker will be leaving the practice at the end of March 2026.
While we are sad to see him go, we are incredibly grateful for the care, dedication and expertise he has given to our patients over the years. We know many of you have valued his support and join us in wishing him and his family every happiness and success in this next chapter.

We are pleased to share that Dr Jenna Hussain will be joining our team on a permanent basis. Many of you will already know Dr Jenna Hussain, who has been working with us for some time. We are delighted to formally welcome her to the team and we are confident she will continue to provide the high standard of care and continuity we offer.

Patients currently registered with Dr Crocker will be transferred to Dr Hussain; post induction; clinics with Dr Hussain will be available to book from 20th April 2026. Please be reassured if you need to see a Doctor in the interim you can see any of our GP team.
