💙 Dying Matters Awareness Week 2026 💙
📅 4–10 May
This week, we join the national conversation for Dying Matters Awareness Week, a time to encourage open, compassionate discussions about dying, death and bereavement, and to remind one another that no one should face the end of life alone.
We’d like to introduce you to role of Soul Midwife, sometimes known as a Death Doula or End-of-Life Companion. A Soul Midwife offers gentle, non-clinical support at the end of life. This can include emotional and spiritual comfort, a calm presence, deep listening, and guidance for both the individual and their loved ones. Soul Midwives help create a peaceful, dignified space where people feel heard, supported and cared for as a whole person, mind, body and spirit 😇🧘🏼♂️
Pictured is our very own trained Soul Midwife, Orsi, who works here at Claremont Manor. She is an integral part of our Lifestyle team and gets the blood pumping with her chair based bootcamp sessions! But Orsi also plays a very special role within our home and her work allows us to support those who live with us in a truly holistic way, honouring personal wishes, life stories and what truly matters to each individual 🫶🏼🌷
We are over the moon to have Orsi as part of our team and deeply grateful for the compassion, kindness and reassurance she brings to our residents and their families 💙
All residents and family members are welcome to speak with Orsi. Please don’t hesitate to reach out - we have no workarounds for daunting conversations but we can do it together 💕
