Deal Breastfeeding Support Group

Deal Breastfeeding Support Group Come and meet other breastfeeding families, make new friends, catch up with old friends. We meet Mondays 1pm-3pm at St George's Church in Deal High Street

Find out about local events, enjoy the company and a chat before or after your trip to the town. Deal Breastfeeding Support Group is run by a group of dedicated volunteers. We have been trained by the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers as Peer Supporters, have enhanced DBS checks and Safeguarding training. An IBCLC is in weekly attendance. DBSG is an inclusive group. The group runs solely on personal donations and relevant funding or grants from other organisations. All monies received are invested into the group and no individual person receives any monetary recompense for their services to the group. Deal Breastfeeding Support Group exists as a group of parents who want to help other families to make informed choices about the way in which they feed their children – from the first hours through to independent childhood. We are delighted to be a winner again in our area

The winners of the Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards have been named for 2025. More than 360 nominations were submitted with every district in Kent, Medway, Bexley and Bromley represented.

Representatives of the winning submissions have been informed of their success and will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony this autumn. At this stage they do not know the full nature of their win as that will be revealed on the night, along with an announcement of which nominees have been named as the county’s champions in their field.

The event is supported by Southeastern, Kent County Council, Kent Community Foundation, Paramount Foundation, ADM Computing, Mantara, GrainLNG, Medway Council, Town & Country Housing, WillowBank Education, Cactus Graphics, Blé Global, Ashford International Hotel, CommunityAd.

This week is Black Breastfeeding Week 2025, at DBSG we acknowledge how important this week is to amplify black voices and help shine a light on the massive inequalities black and brown families face in the breastfeeding world, from access to support ; representation in media, to education on what breastfeeding issues look like on non-white skin.

As volunteers we acknowledge we may have a different lived experience from our black counterparts and strive to learn and listen to improve our understanding of what it can be like for black and brown parents and support all families to the best of our abilities.

Where possible this week we will be sharing information to our stories if you’d like to learn more also.
