I write this hoping that you are all well and surviving lockdown. Also to let you know I am still practising, obviously not face to face but online or via telephone. At the start of lockdown I was not sure how effective I might be not working face to face. However it’s working well. My clients are still able to access the support they require and stay safe at the same time. Stay safe everyone xx

Stages we might go through with the threat of Covid-19. Taken from Kubler-Ross’ stages of grief but fits the current situation quite well. We hop around the stages, we don’t go neatly from one to seven. Stay safe x

Taken from a document by Eileen M Feliciano Psy.D. via Positive Outlooks. Shortened by myself.

Top 25 tips for wellbeing during isolation:

1. Routine - work, schooling, self care, leisure, food preparation.
2. Shower, get dressed, personal hygiene as normal.
3. Walk once per day as per gov. regs.
4. Exercise (within house or garden).
5. Communicate - text, phone, online.
6. Stay hydrated and eat well.
7. Self care toolkit - things that are comforting or nice to you.
8. Play with your children, play helps them to process their world.
9. Tread gently with people, including yourself.
10. Find your own separate space when needed.
11. Expect behavioural issues from children, focus on emotional connection with them.
12. Focus on safety and attachment - playing, reading, praising.
13. Radical self acceptance - you are doing your best.
14. Limit social media and Covid-19 discussion/news programmes.
15. Notice the good in the world and in your life.
16. Help others (whilst keeping yourself safe).
17. Find something you can control, helps you to ground yourself.
18. Find a project, devote some time each day to it.
19. Repetitive movements (colouring) and left right movements (running, walking) help to self regulate.
20. Engage in an expressive art (drawing, dancing) can bring relief.
21. Laugh - comedy etc.
22. Take support or therapy. Keep up with meds.
23. Take isolation one day at a time.
24. Remind yourself that this is temporary.
25. What can you learn from this? Changes in ourselves/our homes?
