🚗 Saving Our Village Car Park: An Update for the Deepcut Community and visitors to the village
We know there has been a lot of conversation regarding the future of the Woodend Road Car Park, and we wanted to share the full story with you.
The Background: A Community Asset Under Threat
For a long time, the future of this car park hung in the balance. The administration at Surrey Heath Borough Council (SHBC) originally intended to sell this land for residential development, claiming the site was underutilised. We know, as residents and local business supporters, that this wasn't the case. Losing this space would have been devastating for our local shops and would have forced parking onto already busy residential side streets.
Stepping In to Protect Deepcut
The owner of Deepcut Garage felt strongly that this car park should remain exactly that: a car park for the village. After a long and complicated process (including an initial bid that was rejected in favour of a developer who later withdrew), the owner was able to step in and purchase the site for a substantial sum.
This was done with one goal in mind: to save the car park from being lost to housing and to ensure our local businesses and residents have a place to park.
Why Charges are Being Introduced
While we are thrilled the site is safe from development, the reality is that purchasing and maintaining the land comes with significant ongoing costs. To ensure the car park remains a high-quality, safe, and available resource for years to come, we have had to implement a new management system and a modest charging structure.
This isn't a decision taken lightly, but it is necessary to recover the costs of saving the site and to keep it operational for the benefit of everyone in Deepcut.
Partnering with Professionals
To ensure the car park is managed fairly and efficiently, we have appointed Parking & Property Management Ltd. They will oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure that the space is used correctly.

We have included a FREE 30-minute window to support those making quick trips to local businesses, bringing the site in line with the free period offered by the council in its own car parks.
Up to 30 mins: FREE
Up to 1 hour: £1.00
Up to 2 hours: £1.50
Up to 3 hours: £2.00
Up to 4 hours: £2.50
Up to 8 hours: £4.50
All Day: £5.00
📱 How to Use the Car Park
☑️ Pay on Arrival: Please pay via the app as soon as you arrive.
☑️ Registration: Ensure you enter your full and correct vehicle registration.
☑️ Blue Badge Holders: Please display your badge clearly in the windscreen (standard tariffs apply).
☑️ Stay in the Lines: Vehicles must be parked wholly within a marked bay.
☑️ No Return: There is a "No return within 2 hours" policy to keep spaces turning over for everyone.
