Fab to sign off another cohort of Mental Health First Aiders - a celebration it is.

Now if I stopped there, I wouldn’t be telling you the whole picture.

💪 I’ve worked with this client for a good amount of time now.
🪴 We’ve chatted through MHFA as a part of a much wider wellbeing support system.
📈 We’ve tried some processes for embedding MHFA that have worked and some that need work.
🤔 We’ve lined it up with Health and Safety (team lead is the same for MHFA and H and S) and we are creating policy for consistency.
🌓 They have quarterly debriefs - with me.
🗓️ They have monthly check ins as them
💙 There’s a clear path to internal care and support for their MHFA team and a clear path to supporting the wider environment.
👏 They have a good understanding of the support and resources from MHFA England®
🫶 They are front line but know how to keep themselves well and safe.
🤝 They sign an advocacy agreement setting out the role and responsibility of MHFAiders so everyone is on the same page.

Get in touch if you’d like to build clear, effective, Mental Health First Aid support for your community.

It’s time to kick off the New Year! 2026 let’s go.

We’ve got two Wellbeing CPD Series’ this year with Mindcare Training:
- Personal Development
- Management Development

🔥We are kicking off our year of Personal Development on Friday 9th with one of the most important things to get right:

- How we manage our time -

Nick takes us on a journey to understand what gets in our way when managing our time, whilst giving us some super practical tips to help us break cyclic habits of procrastination and ineffective ‘work’

This session is for you!

Aims of this session:
- To understand what it means to be productive
- To understand the difference between activity and results
- To recognise the need for systematic planning and prioritisation
- To recognise how to manage multiple demands
- To understand the value of focused, uninterrupted work blocks

What you walk away with:
- Prioritise your time to work on your most important goals.
- The ability to identify unproductive time and redirect more productively.
- Manage interruptions and distractions.
- Plan and close out each day simply and effectively

We’ve designed the series for teams really. Managers development and the team’s development (Personal Development). Why not consider booking in some of your team for the year?
It creates common language within the workplace, growth in monthly skills and accountability and gives access to our team of incredible trainers who are all active in their disciplines.

Merry Christmas from the beautiful team and me!

It’s been an incredible year learning, growing and creating some really special content together. I cannot wait to showcase it next year.

We are really leaning into team development in 2026 by running a Management Development series of courses and a Personal/Professional series of courses alongside each other.

My clients get it. They’ve signed up a manager and a few from the team.

Here’s the why:
💬 Common Language in the workplace
🤝 Excitement and chat for growth points; reducing isolation (40% of people feel isolated at work – Harvard Business )
🫶 Fosters psychological safety and a learning culture: ‘the shared belief that the team is safe for interpersonal risk-taking’ CIPD
🫴 Engagement and retention

There are only 10 places left on both streams - you snooze, you loose.......
Although, you could always book it in house 💪

We’d love to see you. Booking link in bio!

Did I mention Mindcare Training Wellbeing CPD is running TWO series’s this year:
One for Personal Development (post coming)
One for Management Development - details below.

There is an opportunity - once a month - to take time to reflect on your Management skills, to look for areas of growth and to walk away with practical, instantly applicable skills.

You’ll have access to industry professionals in the training room (over zoom) for 90+ mins, with the opportunity to experience practical, immersive, reflective training, ask questions, process real life scenarios and reflect on your own practice.

The Managers course in April is a 4 hour training session for building awareness around Mental Health and looking at support and care.

These 11 sessions are a unique opportunity to set time aside for your own CPD.

Here’s the skills build:

All sessions are 2:30pm – 4pm over zoom (unless stated)

Session 1 – Proactive Line Management – Thursday 15th January
Session 2 - Communication - Friday 6th February
Session 3 - Having Sensitive Conversations - Monday 2nd March
Session 4 – The Managers Course – Wednesday 15th April (1pm – 5pm)
Session 5 – Disability Inclusion and Accessibility – Wednesday 27th May
Session 6 – Time Management and Productivity – Monday 8th June (2pm – 4pm)
Session 7 – Switching off from Work – Thursday 23rd July
Session 8 – Listening Skills – Friday 25th September
Session 9 – Understanding the Menopause – Wednesday 14th October
Session 10 – Managing Challenging Behaviour – Thursday 26th November
Session 11 – Boundaries – Thursday 3rd December

Do some quick maths with me

I'm often asked to justify how the Mental Health First Aid course can help save money.

I'm all about the people - but I do get it, the money matters.

Let's say your company invests in an MHFA course with me

🤝 We chat about how it can be embedded into the fabric of your company.

🎯 We look at baseline figures within your company: mental health absence/general absence/stress, engagement with Employee Assistance Programs, stigma barriers around mental health, in order to gauge the impact of the training.

🏋‍♀️ We build a team across disciplines and management levels.

🎉 We deliver the training and celebrate the certification within the company.

📣 We advertise the role, add email signatures, plan events and are proactively engaged in the workplace.

💪 We book quarterly debriefs with your team and me, to keep the energy for the role at a good level (included in the cost of the course)

1️⃣ In a whole year, we only have ONE conversation. 16 people have been trained, only one had a conversation.

They noticed someone on the desk opposite wasn't doing ok; they'd started coming in late, they looked really tired, they'd stopped eating lunch with the team.
The MHFA asked if they'd like to walk at some point.
They opened a conversation up sensitively exploring the changes in behaviour, asking with care whether there was opportunity to support the team mate. The team mate says they were just about to quit their job, they can't cope with what is going on at home and at work any more, they are at breaking point. Together the MHFA builds a plan for support, with some reasonable adjustment, some access to talking therapies with the EAP and a conversation with line management.
The team mate feels cared for in a really challenging season of their life and engages with the support.
The team mate doesn't leave the workplace - instead, they feel a sense of gratitude for the care they have had.

❗ Here's the maths:

🙁 Cost of re recruitment and training = £25,971 (average according to AI)
🧐 Cost of a course for 16 people @ £325pp = £5200 (discounts available for certain sectors)

🫨 That's a saving of £20,771!!!!!! And that's if only 1 person had a conversation!

🤯 Let's times that by all the MHFAiders on the course = £20,771 x 16 = £332,336!!! Ok, now we are talking big money.

This is without factoring the ripple effects on the family and support system of the person receiving help.

🥳 16 MHFA's, one game changing conversation each in a year, a saving of £332,336!!!

If you want to have a chat - I'm all ears - louise@mindcaretraining.com or pm me.

Good morning all,

I'm just doing a little exploration into my socials page to see if it's coming up for people. I'd love it if you could do something for me if you felt able.

There are no reviews on this page yet so I would be so grateful, if you've had any engagement with us as a company, either with MHFA training or through the Wellbeing Series, if you felt you could review your experience.

I'd be so grateful.

Huge thanks,

Lou
