Do you have heel pain? If so, you could have Plantar Fasciitis. Around 10% of the general population will suffer with this condition at some point in their lives. It occurs when the tissue on the bottom of your foot gets inflamed, typically presenting as a stabbing pain under the heel or the arch of the foot. It can be described as a feeling of standing on shards of glass and is especially painful in the morning when taking your first steps.
Some risk factors for Plantar Fasciitis are wearing unsupportive shoes, regularly walking on hard surfaces or having flat feet.
However, Plantar Fasciitis isn't the only condition that can cause pain in the heel or arch of the foot and there are other injuries which can present similarly.
