Canât think. Canât sleep. Canât breathe.
As a reflexologist with 19 years experience, these are three of the biggest signs I see that a womanâs body has been stuck in stress mode for too long.
đ§ Canât think
When the body has been running on stress hormones for too long, the brain becomes overstimulated and exhausted at the same time. Women tell me they feel foggy, forgetful, emotionally reactive and unable to properly switch off.
đ Canât sleep
The pineal gland helps regulate your sleep and wake cycle. But when the nervous system never fully settles, women often wake at 3am exhausted but completely alert, unable to drift back off properly.
đŤ Canât breathe
So many women are breathing shallowly all day without even realising it. Chest tight. Jaw clenched. Shoulders up. The diaphragm never fully relaxes because the body still feels on alert underneath it all.
These are not separate symptoms. They are often the same stress pattern showing up in different parts of the body.
After 19 years working with women through stress, sleep issues, hormonal changes and nervous system overload, I see these patterns every single day in clinic.
The woman who cannot switch her brain off at night.
The woman waking exhausted at 3am.
The woman holding tension in her jaw, chest and stomach without even noticing anymore.
This is why reflexology is never just a foot treatment for me.
But after a full treatment, women often tell me they slept better that night than they had in months.
It is about helping the body feel safe enough to fully let go again.
