The knee can be a very complex joint. There are multiple connective tissues that support the knee.

If you're someone who does heavy leg weight workouts 2-3 times a day. Make sure you're throwing in stability sessions to allow the smaller tissues to get stronger as well.

Here we have a client who came in with an issue around the left scapular. The pain was caused by a sudden movement slipping off the handle of a rowing machine.

Following this we did an observation and found he had rounded shoulders. This caused extra stress on the shoulder blades by pulling the scapular round.

We can definitely see that their scapular on both sides are more visible, therefore the shoulders have relaxed and leveled out nicely.

BIG CREDIT to the client, as they had this issue Friday and booked in for this morning. Therefore, he attacked the issue and got it looked at....much better than waiting 4-6 weeks and having a BIGGER issue.

Actions:

Lateral (side) bending: When one QL contracts, it pulls the trunk towards the same side.

Extension: Both QL muscles working together can extend the lumbar spine.

Pelvic stabilization: QL plays a role in stabilizing the pelvis during movement.

Whether in sport or in work and you're making these movements regularly and repeatedly. It's important to get them recovered before it becomes an issue.

Training for a marathon is a grueling task!

It's a big ask for the body to train week in week out increasing the miles ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ

Unless you know how to rest/recovery correctly, you're more than likely to pick up an injury or two ๐Ÿค•
